Here is my 3rd Chapter :)
Aria’s POV
“When are we leaving?” I asked in a dull voice.
“We need to be there by next week, they are in dire need of a manager since their last one left on short notice last week.” Penny said
“Ok” I croaked. “If you don’t mind I’m going to my room for a bit” I said softly
“Aria, wait!” Penny called to me before I could leave the room. I stopped and turned around waiting for her to continue. “I know you don’t want to leave and you’ve got all your friends and life here, I wouldn’t do this to see you suffer but I really need this job. If you haven’t noticed we currently are short on cash.” She said sadly looking down.
“I know Penny, it’s okay. I’m not going to be selfish and deny you the right to get this job but moving back to Willow Ridge is something I thought I’d never do you know. After mom left and dad kicked me out and you said I could come live with you it’s something that never crossed my mind.” I depressingly told her.
She sighed and said, “Come here and give your granny a hug” pulling me towards her. I hugged her back tightly not wanting to let go. “Aria, I love you so much and would never do a thing to hurt you. Your mom was a fool leaving you thinking her life would be better without you!”
“I love you to Penny” I said
After a moment of silence and us embracing each other she said, “Alright, you can go to your room now”
“Thanks” I said softly. After walking to my room and collapsing on my bed, my mind was racing with all sorts of question like ‘what happens when I see my used to be father’ ‘have they moved to some place different’ ‘are they still mad at me’ and the list goes on. I soon fell into a deep slumber.
The next morning I woke up feeling happy then I remembered last night’s events and in an instant I went from feeling on top of the world to feeling like the world was on top of me.
Since it was Sunday, I only planned on staying home and doing absolutely nothing besides being sad. I then decided to get out my phone and called Christina knowing she would be with Alicia and Jenny since they went to a party last night and crashed at Christina’s place.
“Hello”
“Hey Chrissy, can we talk” I said
“Yeah sure, what’s wrong.. Wait let me put it on loudspeaker so Jenny and Alicia can hear” she said
“Wait, can you guys rather come over, I’d prefer to tell you guys in person.” I said
“Sure, we’ll be over in a sec.” She said before hanging up.
After a couple of minutes my best friends barged through my door. “What’s up doll, you sounded like you have something serious to say.” said Christina jumping on my bed to sit next to me while Jenny sat at my desk and Alicia got a pillow to lie down on my carpet.
“Uhm.. I don’t know how to say this” I said softly.
“Honey, it seriously can’t be that bad can it?” asked Jenny.
“I’m moving back to Willow Ridge” I said in a voice just above a whisper.
“What, Why!” shouted Alicia
“Penny got a job offer there and it’s an opportunity to good to reject, besides we kinda need the money right now” I said quietly. Three weeks ago Penny lost her job after the restaurant she was working at closed down and it’s really hard for me to find a job that won’t let me drop my grades.
