I was teaching a class some sword fighting, and today didn't seem to be my day. Every time I stood up, I felt like I was going to pass out or puke, so I made the kids run some laps and duel with each other.
"Hey Prissy!" Clarisse scoffed, sitting beside me. "Chiron said you looked sick so I came here to help you. My cabin is having a break anyways." Clarisse shrugged, patting my shoulder awkwardly and taking over the class. I was thankful, I wouldn't be able to do much. Lunch was right away anyways. I walked over dizzily to the pavilion, and the conch horn sounded, and everyone rushed in, sacrificing some food. I just prayed to the gods I usually sacrifice food for, I couldn't stand to walk.
"Perce, you good?" Jason said, sitting across from me. Camp has long since discarded the rule for campers staying at their parents tables. There are no longer assigned tables.
"Feeling really light headed today for some reason." I said, rubbing my forehead and drinking some water, but it didn't help at all.
"Here's some more water." Annabeth offered gently, giving me a huge water bottle. Where did she get that?
"Thanks." I smiled, kissing her quickly and then splashing the water on my head, and drank the remaining bit. It wasn't helping! I hit my head against the table, and I felt a hand on my shoulder, rubbing it comfortingly. I was shocked when plates and cups started flying off of table, and campers (Aphrodite cabin) were screaming about food landing on their outfits.
"Please, no. Don't be some powerful people trying to kill us." I prayed to every higher being than me. I closed my eyes when a flash flashed in the centre of the pavilion. When the light subsided, I looked and saw three old ladies. No no no! The fates! I gasped in shock when they looked straight at me, and beckoned me to approach.
The pavilion was in silence, and I knew saying something funny would end up with me getting killed. I looked around, and my friends were all looking at me expectingly. I groaned silently, rubbing my head aggressively, I felt light headed, and walked up to the fates. I tried to ignore the world spinning around me, and listen.
"Perseus Jackson. We simply have one question." The lady holding the scissors to cut the life string said simply, snapping her fingers. The dizzy feeling went away and I felt fine. I nodded at her, and the other lady spoke. I'm sorry that I don't know names!
"If you were to take all the pain from the world, would you?" She asked, and I looked at her in shock. All the pain? How would I take all the pain? But to be able to help the children being harmed, to the teenagers and adults that self harm, I can help so many.
"I would. If I could take all of the pain, from everyone, I would." I said surely. I didn't dare look at anyone else, I felt like that would make this worse.
"So be it, Jackson. 1 month, you shall feel the pain of the world." The women that hasn't spoken yet, spoke. Feel the pain? Jackson, you are so dumb! I screamed at myself in my thoughts, almost failing to notice the tree fates snap their fingers in sync, but I knew they did, I heard the sound, and felt immense pain everywhere!
"Percy!" Annabeth screamed when the fates disappeared. I collapsed on the ground, clutching my head. "Seaweed brain! Why?" Annabeth asked sadly, helping me sit up.
"I didn't think they meant literally, besides, others are okay now." I smiled slightly, struggling to stand. I felt like my legs were hit repeatedly by a hammer, then sliced open. Sewn back together and repeat a couple hundred times.
"But you aren't. You haven't moved." Piper said pointedly, and I grunted, moving my arm.
"I moved." I smirked playfully at her, and she glared back at me jokingly. "I'll be fine, just lots of water." I smirked, standing up, but when I put pressure on my foot, it hurt! I just decided to stay on the floor, closing my eyes.
