August 18'th, the best and worst day of some. The birth of a young hero, anniversary for the young hero and his girlfriend, and then now, his death. The people who were with him before he died were scarred for life, they couldn't get the image out of their heads, so gruesome and evil.

The young hero was Perseus Jackson, son of Poseidon and hero of Olympus, although he denied it every chance he got. He lived 19 years before being tortured to death by Kronos and the Cyclops. Nobody really knows what happened to Perseus on that day except the people that were with him, and those were his closest friends, who were forced to watch as he bled.

He didn't deserve it, to die the way he did. Everyone thought he was going to die peacefully, but one slip up, one small mistake, led to a horrid death. Ahhhhh. His screams were still fresh in their minds, especially since they were standing his his grave. Everyone wanted a grave for him.

"He didn't deserve that." Annabeth whispered. She wasn't herself since his death. She was quiet and hidden, short tempered. They loved each other, Annabeth and Perseus, but the worst things happen to the best people. Leo wasn't even able to crack a joke, the entire thing of watching the life leave a person's eyes hurt. Jokes just didn't seem possible anymore to him.

"He wouldn't want us to mourn." Piper said quietly. She wanted to be the one that stayed strong, nobody else was coping, not even she was, but she wanted to help. She had to remind them of the good still.

"We watched him get tortured! He can't expect anything else from us." Jason argued slightly, before sighing. Jason felt guilty about the whole thing, he should have been able to help but he just stood there, being held back by a Cyclops. He should've prayed for help, but Percy's screams numbed his brain. It was the same for all of them, they've never seen the hero of the Olympus in so much pain.

His mom was never to be seen by them since the funeral, the only one that's seen her is Paul, and even he was mourning. Sally thought Percy would have died of old age, way after she passed, but her son died in the worst possibly way. She had no idea how bad the torture was, and that was for the best, everyone thought it would be better off that way.

"Does anyone know how Chiron feels about this?" Grover asked, staring at the grave sadly. Percy was his best friend for many years, he knew things that Percy didn't want anyone to know. He had trusted Grover with his life, and he had done nothing while his best friend was dying.

"He doesn't come out as much anymore, probably tired of losing hero's." Annabeth frowned. Her eyes were red and puffy, the funeral was about 2 weeks ago now, but they still come every day, like something will change, like he'll come up from behind, all his limbs attached and not a scar on his body. The fates were cruel though, they wouldn't let anyone be happy, especially Percy.

Nobody understood how cruel the cyclops or the Titans could be until they saw that they did to Percy, it was pure evil. His leg was bitten off, his eye got scratched out, they cut off each finger of his hands until they were out of fingers, and then cut off chunks of his arms piece by piece. And the mist covered up the sound of his screams. The deep red blood with tints of godly blood was spilt all over the grass of the forest that morning, and it was to sunny of a day to feel like it was real.

"Understandable, he's seen everyone he's loved throughout the years die." Thalia frowned, she wasn't watching the entire thing, she found everyone, and shot Kronos and the cyclops, but she wasn't there fast enough, she blamed herself most. If only she were there earlier. Five minutes could've been the difference between life or death.

   "Let's go." Hazel said quietly. She was heartbroken, after seeing one of her best friends get tortured, and worst of all, she had a feeling something like it would happen. If only she had pieced it together, if only she knew what would have happened.
