Chapter 2: A new start

"Wake up you two lovebirds. It's school today."
Luna's mom woke them up from their deep sleep. They both forgot that yesterday was the last day of vacation. It was maybe a little bit too much fun. Kobie's mom brought her backpack to Luna's house so they can go to school together. After Luna packed up her backpack, they were ready to go. They went to the bus stop at the big church close to home. Luna was very stressed when the bus came. It's a big step going to a different school. GSE School of Sciences had a reputation for bad students, bullies, and violence. They told stories they would decimate students who actually got good grades and who were actually friendly. While in the bus, Kobie tried to calm Luna down. She said that nothing ever happened to her and that they'll be fine at the end of the day. Luna was able to calm down. The bus ride took about 45 minutes.
"See, we even survived the bus."Kobie said jokingly as they stepped out of the bus.
When Luna opened the gates. It was nothing like she had ever seen before. "Wow. This playground is big." Luna said with wonder in her eyes. "It's not that big." Kobie responded. Luna had a pretty small playground in her old school. Makes sense. The school didn't have many students. They took a bench in the school park. It was a wonderful sight. A fountain, a small chapel that was made in the middle ages, a small forest. This was the environment that made Luna comfortable. The bell rung at 8:20 AM and every class was called out and were given instructions on where to gather. They finally saw who was going to be their titular. An about 50-year-old woman called Mrs. Hendriks. She looked very friendly. With a smile on her face, she guided us to our main classroom. It was a biology class. Mrs. Hendriks gave us Biology after all. Luna and Kobie sat down next to each other. Luna didn't know anyone in her class even though there were only 6 students. But no worries, they would introduce themselves.

Michaël was a soft-spoken boy even though he was ripped as all hell. He was good at computers and would always step forward if teachers couldn't figure out new technology.
Then we had Joachim, he was the class clown and not in a positive way. He would always crack jokes at the wrong moment, interrupting the teachers. He was also a rich kid. He always flexed his wealth in other people's faces. But when he was getting cocky, a kid slightly bigger than him would make him shut his mouth.
Up next is Misha, a Russian transfer student who went to Belgium to observe the plain farmlands of Belgium. He lived in an apartment in Chelyabinsk with only his mother. He was very friendly but looked like he could rip a block of wood open with his bare hands and then squeeze someone's head open with his fingers. He was massive.
And the last student was Hideo. The son of Japanese born emigrants who moved here because of his dad who wanted a job in Western-Europe. He liked cartoons and was an amazing artist. He was also a bit overdramatic because of him playing in school plays.

"This seems like a fun class to be in. Small and with friendly people in it." Luna said.
Time flies fast wouldn't you know and the bell for the 1st break has already gone off. Luna and Kobie sat outside in the park holding hands with Kobie putting her head on Luna's shoulder again.
"Well, well, well. Look who we got here."
It was Lukas. Kobie knew him for a long time and knew he was an asshole. "*Sigh* Hi Lukas." Kobie responded.
"Who is that you got next to you?" Lukas asked.
"This is Luna. My girlfriend. She's new here." Kobie responded.
"Holy shit!" Lukas says as he begins to laugh hysterically.
"You know how disgusting that is?!" Lukas yells at the top of his lungs.
"Just like you are, piece of filth." Kobie responds with absolute anger.
"What did you say to me?!"
Lukas grabs Kobie's hair and pulls her towards him.
"You've known me for 3 years and you know what I can do to you and your gay ass girlfriend!" Lukas shouted in Kobie's face.
Luna stood up and got behind Lukas. She wrapped her arm around Lukas' throat and pulls him to the ground. Kobie fell on the ground. Luna further put Lukas in a sleeper hold. Before Lukas could pass out, she freed him. Lukas and his posse ran away.
"You're on the list, whore!" Lukas shouted. Luna was out of breath to the point she was almost on her hands and knees. Kobie lifted her up and planted a kiss on her.
"Y-you protected me...." Kobie said with tears in her eyes.
"I- I just don't want you to get hurt. I would rather put myself in danger than you." Luna responded while still out of breath.
Before Luna had the time to regain her balance, the bell rang. They excused themselves to the teacher so they could go to the school nurse. Kobie's hand was completely open from the fall. They had to disinfect the wounds. They went to class and they didn't say anything. Because they know that snitches get stitches.
