Balloony was feeling particularly lonely at the moment, it was way too late at night to wake up dear Little One, he needed his sleep! He flipped to his back, still on top of his bed, looking at the clock on the wall "Hmmm..." he tried to figure out what time it was, somewhere around 3:30 Am.

Balloony wasn't really all that smart, which is why he's a self-named Airhead.
But, he was a quick thinker...most of the time. So, that's probably an upside.

Something he felt was troubling him. Was it the gnawing loneliness just mentioned?
Probably. So how was he to satisfy this? Well he should obviously go see if his best friend, Cloudy, was up. He usually is at this hour.

His room was just across the hallway, so the airhead got up, opening his creaky door hoping to wherever balloons are made that nobody woke up.

Well maybe except for Cloudy, if he wasn't already.

Tip toeing across the carpeted hallway, he finally made it to Cloudy's room, his door was decorated with a sign that read "Cloudy'z room."

He always thought the way Cloudy wrote was cute, he'd never say it to his face though. He'd probably deflate out of nervousness before he even got a word out!
Even just thinking about saying something like that made him nervous.

Anyway...
Knocking on his teammate's door timidly he tried to whisper quietly to let Cloudy know who was there.

"...C-Cloudy? Are you awake?"

He heard some muffled shuffling of covers and various items falling over
"Whoz there?"
Balloony felt bad because anyone could obviously tell Cloudy was either just getting ready to go to sleep, or he had been asleep. His voice was very drowsy and slurred.

"O-Oh...sorry Cloudy, I thought you might've been up.
I'll just head back n-"

"waid!"
The doorknob rattled and on the other side was Cloudy!
He looked- really really sleepy.
"I didn't zay you 'ad to leave..."
He nodded towards the inside of his room inviting Balloony inside.

"Sorry about waking you up, Cloudy I really didn't mean for-"

"It'z ogay, really. I tohn't mind."

Balloony sat on his friends bed and looked around the room, it was cluttered with random trinkets and items from other people.

It was very silent for around 10 seconds before someone decided to speak up, breaking the awkwardness that covered the room.

"Whad were you even ub to Palloony? I thougt you would've pin asleeb hours ako."
Cloudy softly drifted onto the bed, the covers slightly wrinkling under him.

Balloony scratched the side of his head trying to explain what he was even doing up at this hour, they had a challenge to do tomorrow anyway.
"I...I really couldn't sleep heh heh."

Cloudy looked at him confused, but accepted it.
"Are...you dired righd now?"
He looked at him for a moment when asking him but his eyes shifted to the side after out of embarrassment, he obviously had something on his mind.

"I guess..."
"Y'know Cloudy, you're room is really comfy."

"Whad do you meahn, Palloony?"

Balloony instantly regret saying that, because he knew, knowing himself he would end up complimenting Cloudy. What if he tells him about how he would really love to give Cloudy a k-

"It's um...it's so full of stuff, there's really no empty corners. I-I just like how you decorate stuff, you've got a knack for that."
Cloudy's cheeks bloomed a deep red, the fact that someone thought he had good design meant alot.

"Thangz! I honeztley chust put stuff where I want and it...comes hout alright!"
Balloony plopped onto the bed his eyes now fixed on the ceiling, it was covered with glow in the dark stars.

"I think you've done a great job, I would hate to lose you, y'know if you get...eliminated."
His eyelids close halfway, the inevitability of sleep creeping in.

"Whad do you mean?"
Balloony sighed, not really favoring the topic he himself had brought up.

"You just- ugh."
"Cloudy you mean so much to me...as a friend" He had to add that last part in, afraid of suspicion from his friend.
"you're a really good person, my best friend." Balloony hated that word to describe Cloudy 'friend'. He was so much more than that to him.

"And the thought of losing you, y'know, from elimination is scary. Of course anyone else on our team too. But you mostly."
His brows furrowed thinking of Cloudy being eliminated, he didn't like it, not at all...
"Golfball told me, that we're the worst performing team. That- that scares me, what if you get eliminated, or I get eliminated?! Or..or-"

He felt something soft touch his head, settling as he opened his eyes to see Cloudy.
"Whad if we donght?"
"...What?"

"Whad ifg we dohnt ket eliminaded? If we win?"
Balloony smiled.
"Well...that would be really nice."
"If I win, I'll let you keep my Bfdi. For your collection!"
Cloudy's cheeks were red again, appreciating the proposal.
Balloony sat up. Behind him a frown forms on Cloudy's face, he assumed Balloony would be leaving.

"Cloudy, I think I'll head to sleep now, thanks for letting me chat it means alot."
He's getting up to leave, stop him.

Tell him.

Go.

Hurry!

"Wade! Um...Palloony?"

Balloony swiftly turned around to Cloudy- somehow visibly sweating.
"Yea?"

"To you uh, thing thad..."
Balloony stepped closer to encourage him to say whatever it was he needed to tell him.

"To you thing thad you could sleeb with me tonight?"
Both blushed intensely at the suggestion.

"..."
"...S-sure"

Balloony climbed into bed, flicking the light off, the stars on the ceiling illuminating only a small part of what was around them, the other stars filling in the dark spaces that would have been left.

They were both laying there, Balloony on his side and Cloudy on his bottom, as he really couldn't sleep on his side comfortably without squishing himself.

"Cloudy I'm cold, can you um-"
Before he could finish Cloudy already snuggled up to Balloony.
"Thanks."

As Balloony was drifting off to sleep, his arms wrapped around Cloudy he heard his friend utter something.

"I logve you Palloony"
Balloony was about to ask what he said but then cloudy gave him a small kiss on the cheek.
"M-Me too, Cloudy."
