"How could you!"

"You're hurting me!"

"I loved you!"

"You slut!"

"I didn't mean to hurt you"

"Baby please!"

As my eyelids slowly begin to part I was ambushed by fluorescent lighting and with another blink I raised my head and slowly scanned my unfamiliar surroundings. Wide awake now, I raised up with discomfort and took in my surroundings once more. I abruptly turned to my left as I heard footsteps and saw Sean coming towards me as my vision was fully restored.

"Its about time you woke up" he rested his hands on the rails of the warm hospital bed I was surprised to be laying in.

"Where the hell am I?" I was in complete confusion as I continued to repeatedly scan the room.

"In an hospital. Where else?" He answered with a shrug.

"Hospital! What! What the hell! Oh my God! What! How did I get here! How long - "

"Look! Me and mommy came home and found you unconscious, Armani" he informed me as he sat down at the foot of my hospital bed.

"Unconscious? How! How long have I been here?" I was thoroughly confused at this point.

"Almost a month now" he shocked me.

"A month! What the hell happened!" I raised my voice.

"Please calm down, our mother has done enough panicking for the both of us" he pulled out a familiar Durex, "maybe this might jog your memory" he set it down in between my feet.

I guess the Durex was all I needed to piece this broken puzzle of memories together as the recurring visions and random voices all connected and became clear as day, "Where did you get that" my heart skipped a beat.

He snickered, "You better be lucky I found it"

"Ha ha very funny but look - "

"Armani, I know"

"But - "

"I know"

"But how?" I was too confused for my own good by now.

"I know you think that I don't like you, which I don't, and that I don't care, which I don't most of the time, but I almost lost you"

"So I had to die for you to care?"

"Almost die"

"You know I can't stand you" I chuckled, "but what do you know?" I needed to know.

"Everything. Armani, you wanna know why I'm so quiet?"

"Why?"

"Have you ever heard that silence can bring knowledge. Maybe if you would learn to lay back for just a minute and stop all the yapping you do you might know something"

"You might be right" and he was right considering that he's not the most vocal in the house we don't dare think that he knows much of anything but I guess we were wrong.

"All I'm trying to say is no matter how much we argue, I'm always gonna love you alright"

"I love you too, big brother" I playfully nudged him as he gave me an awkward look, "what? Too much?"

"You know you're extra" he chuckled.

" I see somebody's awake" a familiar voice entered the room, interrupting our conversation.

I looked up from examining my horrid fingernails to see it was none other than yours truly, "Ty"

"Did you forget about me already" he handed me a bouquet of flowers.

I snatched the flowers with as much attitude as I could muster, "Unfortunately not" I took a sniff of the bouquet which smelt like the heavens above.

"I'm gonna go see what's fresh in the cafeteria" Sean got up, dying to escape as it got a little too awkward for him.

"Leaving so soon?" I looked at him with eyes of desperation.

"I'd rather leave you two alone" he swiftly exited the room.

"So how you been?" Ty sat at the foot of the bed, where Sean had sat previously.

"Well, I've been in a coma for about a month! How do you think I've been, Ty" I snapped at him.

"What's with all the attitude?" He screwed his face at me.

"Ty, why are you here?"

"Well with you about to die it got me thinking and I realized life is too short - "

"Oh, so my tragedy is your epiphany!"

"Let me finish! I realized I can't continue to live my life in a lie and even though I'm taking baby steps I've accepted the fact that" his brown eyes began to glimmer with tears, "the fact that" I grabbed his hand and held it with the strength he needed, "the fact that I am gay."

"Its okay" I assured him.

"Armani, I love you! And I will do whatever it takes!" he dried his tears and grabbed both of my hands to hold with such passion, "it hurt everyday to go on while you laid in here to know at any moment you could leave me! So I prayed and begged God to wake you up so I could set myself free and finally live my truth with you"

"But Ty - "

"Tell me that you don't love me! Tell me that you don't want anything to do with me! Tell me that you're over me and as it hard as it may be.. I'll leave"

"You hurt me so many times" I looked down as he got my waterworks started.

"Tell me that you don't love me" he gracefully lifted my head and looked into my eyes, "just give me another chance" he moved closer, only leaving an inch of space between us.

"I love you" and as the words fell from my mouth he kissed me.

I don't know what the hell I'm doing but life is short and no matter how many times I fall I guess I'm just gonna have to keep taking my chances.
