Chapter 4.
My parents wanted to go to a congratulatory dinner. We were celebrating Tanner graduating and getting engaged to Leah and to me getting the call that I would get to audition for the judges for The X Factor USA. We were at Studio Restaurant. My parents invited Arianna, Taylor, Alyssa, Leah and Wyatt’s girlfriend Kayla to come to dinner with us and they all came. We were all waiting for our food when my phone vibrated with a text. It was an unknown number.
Hey it’s Joe. – Joe.
Hey! How are you? – Lauren.
I’m wonderful! How are you? – Joe.
I’m doing great! – Lauren.
Did you find anything out about your x factor audition? – Joe.
Yes! I just got the call an hour ago! I get to audition for the judges in San Francisco on June 16th! I’m so excited! – Lauren.
Seriously?! That’s incredible! You should be really impressed with yourself! – Joe.
I am. I’m really nervous though. – Lauren.
Don’t be. I’m sure you’re going to be incredible. I have to go though. I have a show in a couple of minutes. I just wanted to see if you heard anything. You have my number now so don’t be afraid to shoot me a text or phone call. – Joe.
Okay. Bye Joe! – Lauren.
Our food arrived and we all started eating.
“L, have you talked to Jordan?” Tanner asked.
“Not since he left.”
“Have you tried to call?” Tanner asked.
“I’m not that worried about what he’s doing. I trust him.” I answered.
“Wait. Did Jordan know you were going to propose to Leah?” I asked suspiciously.
“I may or may not have met up with him the day he left so he could help me pick out a ring.”
I laughed. “You really met up with him the day he left?”
Tanner started laughing harder. “I might have.”
We ate dinner and then all of us went home. I went to my room and changed into my pajamas. I wondered why I hadn’t talked to Jordan so I pulled out my phone and called him.
“Hey babe.” Jordan answered.
“Hey, what are you doing?” I asked.
There were people screaming in the background.
“Where are you?” I asked.
“I’m at the beach. Jayden and I met some guys yesterday so we’ve been hanging out with them.” Jordan told me.
“How was the Jonas Brothers concert?”
“It was okay. We got to meet them.” I said.
“How was that?”
“It was good. Alyssa, Hannah and Zoe told them I was auditioning for the X Factor USA so Joe asked for my number because he wanted to see what would happen with my audition.
“Don’t leave me for him.” Jordan said laughing.
“I won’t. I promise.” I said laughing.
“Oh. So, how was ring shopping with Tanner?” I asked.
Jordan started laughing. “He actually did it.”
