Being alone in a cabin in the middle of nowhere is interesting to say the least. It is extremely quiet.
Apparently he didn't like neighbors and I could only imagine why (*wink wink*). It makes sense but at the same time I don't know how I could do this.
I have no friends that are free and able to come over and even if I did there isn't anything to do around here. There isn't a movie theater within 20 minutes of driving and it is pretty unnerving. It makes me feel like it's the zombie apocalypse and I just so happened to be able to find this amazing cabin but there isn't anything for me to do but wait until it's over.
All I can do is watch the limited about of movies that uncle coran has, clean his house, sleep, or eat anything in his fridge. I don't want to have to drive 45 minutes to get to the grocery store quite yet but I might have to seeing as I can't go three months without A) human contact and B) on one fridge full of food. One doesn't simply stay sane with only those things.
Right now I'm reading one of the many books that I brought with me for the 3rd time. It's a good book but I am getting quite bored with it. The only other noise that I can hear, other than my voice, in my head, reading the words I've read 2 times before this, is the deafening silence mixed with a constantly ticking clock.
Or so I thought.
It was just those three noises that were trying to keep me sane and they failed completely. I finally finished my book, again, and as I set it down on the coffee table in the living room I heard an impossibly loud 'thud' on the floor above me. I knew nobody else was in the house with me ever since I started to house-sit 2 weeks ago but that didn't keep me from thinking that someone broke in.
My rational mind was screaming at me that there wasn't anyone in the house but me but my imagination said otherwise.
I walked up the stairs and looked through all of the doors that were open, My uncle had me leave them open because those were the ones that needed daily maintenance. The only room that was closed was the one in the farthest corner in the hallway. When I noticed there was nothing out of the ordinary in the other rooms I went to the last door.
When I walked into the room and every piece of furniture is flipped onto its side and the wardrobe on the far end is wide open. Obviously I think this is odd but I still went over to the wardrobe to close it. When I got close enough, however, there was a breeze coming from inside of it.
Well that's odd I thought. It sure was because how often do you go over to a wardrobe and there is a freezing cold breeze emanating from inside of said wardrobe? Never. That's the answer. You never go over to a wardrobe and find a freezing cold breeze emanating from inside said wardrobe. If you had then you must've been in the same situation that I was in.
Not only is there a breeze though. Oh no, because that'd be too easy and simple for me to comprehend. There was also an earthy tone, that couldn't have been from the many coats that were stuffed inside, and a low rumble that also sounded like a groan, almost like a large crowd but way too far to hear exactly what was going on.
Now that I think about it, the coats didn't actually look like coats. As I shuffled through them I realised that they were all really thin and looked almost like bodysuits. Wait. They are bodysuits. Skin tight bodysuits. As soon as I came to this realization, I wanted to throw up. I didn't ever need to imagine my uncle in this and never again will I.
Despite this disturbing image that has now engraved itself into my mind I kept sifting through the coats to feel where the breeze was coming from.
I soon found what I was looking for but also what I wasn't expecting at all. I ended up having to go into the wardrobe (back into the closet XD) but I found it. A doorway that was open to the outside. Naturally, I opened it. And I wasn't expecting to see what was behind that door.
A/N oOOOoooOoOooOOo a cliff hanger. I know what's behind the door, do you? I can't wait!! And yes this will venture pretty far from the short story that I put in the one shot book but I hope you will still like it! I love you my sweets!! Stay freaky my fellow freaks!
