The One That Got Away (A gay romance story)

Chapter 1: The Incident

TIME: 11:30 AM
DATE: JULY 5TH, 20XX

     Alex was sleeping soundly, snoring softly and having the most wonderful dre- *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* Of course, all good things must come to an end at some point. He sat up sluggishly, shirtless, considering the night before was the hottest it's been all month. *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* "Oh hush up already." he grabbed his phone and proceeded to shut off the alarm.
     "Geez it's already 11? How many times did I hit that snooze button?" He yawned and stretched. Scratching his back a bit as he got out of bed and put a shirt on. He headed downstairs as he expected to see his mother in the kitchen baking as she was normaly doing these days, but instead saw a note on the fridge that read:
      "Went to the store for more groceries and to run a few errands, see you later tonight. -Mom<3." He chuckled to himself "Surprised she went to the store, she just went yesterday." He was a bit confused but dismissed it as he went back upstairs and into his bathroom to take a shower. He stripped before he had even got to the bathroom, knowing now no one was home. He turned on the hot water and waited for it to start steaming a bit then stepped inside, letting the water wash over his body.
      "Ah~ nice and warm~" he sighed as he stood there for a bit, letting the water flow over his body.

*A FEW MINUTES LATER*

     After a while he finished his shower and decided to relax for a bit and air dry. Walking to his room still naked, he grabbed his phone from his night stand and sat in his chair, scrolling through various social media apps.

TIME: 2 PM

     As he got bored, he got dressed and left the house, locking the door behind him, he stretched a bit as he started walking and headed to he nearby strip mall. As he got closer he saw more and more how packed it was today. He sighed as he started to move his way through the ocean of people.

*1 HOUR LATER*

     After a while, Alex was pretty content with the snacks and a what not he had gotten from the various stores in the strip mall. As he was walking through the crowd of people, he had noticed it had thinned out tremendously now that it's no longer earlier in the day. He was about to exit the crowd when he was bumped into and almost dropped all his stuff. He turned to look at the person, a bit annoyed, but all those emotions stopped as he stared into the other Males' eyes. Time seemed to stop as they held eachothers gaze, but it quickly broke as the person broke the stare down by turning and running.
     "Wait!" Alex took chase, trying to follow the other male. "Please! Wait!" As he said that, he saw the male disappear into the crowd, you stood in a gap In The crowd and looked around frantically, trying to find, /him/.
