Kaone. I must have the worst luck in the world, because why else would Kaone show up now? The worst possible time. I'm literally chained to a tree awaiting whatever punishment that anybody decides to inflict upon me.
Kaone looks at me and frowns."Electra-what are you doing?" She says angrily.
Electra turns on Kaone.
"What do you think? This is Eadu here!" Electra yells. I see Kaone scoff and roll her eyes.
"Why is she here?" Kaone asks.
Electra laughs.
"She was stupid enough to come here in disguise." Electra smirks. Kaone looks confused.
I click my tongue to get her attention and maneuver my arms so she can see my tattoo. Kaone looks at my arm for a long second before scowling.
"You let her join?" Kaone says incredulously.
Electra blushes and mumbles something under her breath. Kaone starts to berate Electra, but I interrupt.
"If you're all done arguing can we get on with it?" I say impatiently. Everybody stops and stares.
Electra raises the whip, but before she can do anything, Kaone interrupts.
"Hold on Electra-you made a deal with me. You told me I could kill her." Kaone says.
Electra laughs.
"Oh please. You actually think I was going to let you kill my worst enemy?" She smirks. Kaone draws her knife.
"Neverless you gave me your word!" Kaone says. Electra scowls and draws her sword.
"I lied." Electra laughs.
Thats the last thing she ever said.
Electra lunges at Kaone. Kaone ducks, and stabs Electra right in the heart. I see Electra freeze-her face contorted in shock and pain-before falling.
Kaone stands up in silence, looking at the body of Electra. Its dead silent. Until somebody starts clapping. Soon every Amazon in the clearing is cheering and whooping in happiness."I guess I'm the new Queen." I hear Kaone murmur to herself. Then she smiles.
"Prepare a feast! Tonight we will celebrate with the death of Eadu!" She shouts.
More cheers follow as I'm roughly untied and dragged in front of Kaone. I give my most sassy smile.
"Throw her into the dungeon. Make sure she is tied up well and has a guard on her at all times." Kaone says.
Obviously Kaone isn't taking any chances."That may not be very wise-my traitorous Captain of the guard is in the dungeon, and if you want either of us alive tonight, I suggest you hold me somewhere else." I say politely.
Kaone sighs.
"Put her in Electra's-I mean my personal dungeon." She says as I'm dragged away.
The room is bare except for a wall with chains on it, and a plain chair and table.
And Mali.
I bite my lip when I see her. I hate that she's facing a death sentence now all because of me.
The guards are so preoccupied with fixing my chains, that they don't notice me pick a hairpin from one of them and drop it into my boot. I smile at my success and earn a slap in the face by one of them.
As soon as they leave I drop the smile and look at Mali."I'm so sorry Mali." I murmur. Mali doesn't look at me.
"I didn't mean to get you involved in this-but I swear I'll get you out." I say. Mali is still silent.
I start to say something else, but Mali turns around and swings her fist right into my stomach.
I'm not going to lie-that hurt.
I groan and double over."I needed to get that out." Mali says. I catch her eye and smile. Mali gives me a slight smile in return.
Just then Kaone walks in."Lynx what are you doing here." She asks.
I sigh.
"Kaone-my name isn't Lynx. I'm really Eadu. I was pretending to be Lynx because Electra tried to kill me four years ago. I had to go into hiding and change my name. I just got really lucky when Gai chose me." I explain to her.
"I don't believe you. Your nothing but a orphan!" Kaone scowls.
I laugh, remembering a very similar conversation with Electra that took place less then a hour ago.
"Actually I'm a Queen." I tell her. Kaone looks less confident.
"So am I." She says proudly. I scoff.
"Queen of what Kaone? These people will try to kill you the minute you turn your back. That's not a Queen. Please come back to my castle with me. I need somebody there I can trust." I say sadly.
"You can't trust me! Your not my friend anymore!" She yells.
"I never stopped being your friend." I say simply.
Kaone rolls her eyes.
"You're not going to preserve your life by sweet talking me. I'm going to kill you tonight." She laughs.
"Are you positive about that? Last time you tried to kill me it didn't end up too well for you." I smirk.
Kaone scowls.
"That wasn't a fair fight!" She says angrily.
I laugh.
"Then lets fight again tonight. Unless you're too scared to fight me." I taunt her.
Kaone glares at me, and draws a small black thing from her pocket.
I've only ever seen one of those things once before. They're very rare, and most people hate using them because there is a fifty/fifty chance of it backfiring. Plus once it runs out, you can't use it ever again.
It's a gun."Where did you get it?" I ask casually. Inside, fear is bubbling in my chest. She wouldn't dare to shoot me. Right?
"Stole it. It's mine." She smiles.
I roll my eyes.
"I have a question for you. What kind of Queen steals a weapon and uses it to intimidate her people?" I ask scathingly.
Theres a loud bang. A intense pain spreads through my right shoulder and into my arm. I scream in agony as the pain intensify's. I look down at my arm. My shoulder is pouring blood, and I scream again. It feels like somebody poured molten lava into my wound. I can barely see, but I do see Kaone toss the smoking weapon out the window.
"This one." She says and exits the room.
