Katherine's POV~ September 3rd, 1943~ 1:00 pm

"We're about to go on our walk, we might go to the beach and swim, so you can put on your swimsuit under your clothes," Emma delivered, I nodded, I assumed she went downstairs because I heard he boots clanging against the hardwood floor

I put on my swimsuit, then I put on my jean shorts and my 1998 New York City t-shirt over the swimsuit, I made my way out of the room that I shared, closing the door I managed to not bump into on my way out, but then, I second guessed myself, right when I started to walk, I bumped into a fairly tall person, I backed away, to see who it was, it was Victor, "Sorry, Victor," I apologized, he was quick to forgive me, and with that we walked downstairs to meet with Miss Peregrine and the others, Miss Peregrine handed out some rules to us, which I tuned out, and then we set off on our walk

Out of the blue, whilst we were all walking in a huddle, I found something to entertain the others, because they seemingly looked bored, I shared me idea with Hannah and Enoch, they agreed to the idea

Then, we started harmonizing

"I was left to my own devices, many days fell away with nothing to show,"

"and the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love, Grey clouds roll over the hills, bringing darkness from above," Me and Enoch harmonized

"But, if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing's changed at all?, and if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like you've been here before?, how am I gonna be an optimist about this?, how am I gonna be an optimist about this?," Enoch, Hannah and I sang

"We were caught up and lost in all of our vices, in your pose as the dust settled around us, and the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love, Grey clouds roll over the hills, bringing darkness from above," Hannah and Enoch chorused

"But, if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing's changed at all?, and if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like you've been here before?, how am I gonna be an optimist about this?, how am I gonna be an optimist about this?," we rendered

"Oh, where do we begin, the rubble of our sins, the rubble of our sins."

"and the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love, Grey clouds roll over the hills, bringing darkness from above,"

"But, if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing's changed at all?, and if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like you've been here before?, how am I gonna be an optimist about this?, how am I gonna be an optimist about this? If you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing's changed at all," we sang whole-heartedly, I looked up from looking down at my feet to see where I was going,

Once I did, I saw that we made it to the beach, I smiled inwardly to myself, I haven't been to a beach in ages, Emma then motioned us girls behind a boulder to change into our swimsuits, out of sight of the boys, I made my way behind the boulder, then I began to take off my articles of clothing, revealing my dark red swimsuit

I then ran off with Fiona, Hugh, Millard, Victor and some of the little ones, into the salty, beach water, the sun beating down on our skin, Miss Peregrine tried to get us to put sunscreen on, but, we were to excited to get into the water and we didn't, and I knew we would regret that decision later,

As we were playing in the knee deep water, me and Hannah, stopped playing, and started talking, still waiting in the knee deep water, I saw dangers coming to tackle me and Hannah into the water, by dangers I mean: Enoch O'Connor and His friend, Victor Bruntley- "HANNAH WATCH OU-" I got cut off by being tackled into the salty water, by none other than Victor Bruntley himself, my head got submerged under the water for two seconds until, I came up out of the water, I slapped Victor on the shoulder, he helped me up, and I laughed,

I stopped, I saw a white figure with no face besides it's large mouth, a hollowghast, "JAKE!" I yelled pointing to the hollow, "A hollow," he screamed, running towards the creature, I took my pocket knife out of my swimsuit and ran right after him, "Don't worry, I got this," I said, holding rather large my pocket knife, I ran up to the hollow, and stabbed it right in the chest, it screeched loudly, but then it's body disintegrated, like grains of sand blowing in the wind,

I made my way toward the sand, wiping bead of sweat that were trickling down from my forehead, I looked at everyone, they stood there wide-eyed, besides two people; Hannah and Jake, then someone broke the silence, "Why did you have a knife in your swimsuit," It was Olive, she asked

"Well, it's a rule, our dad, Jack García, made, Well, he made a total of Fifty, actually, two of the rules that me and Hannah still use today, is Rule number 33: always have a weapon on you at all times," I said, me and Hannah pulled out our pocket knifes, then put them back in our bathing suits, "Then the second rule is: Number 43, we only use the ones in the 40's if very necessary; if in any dangerous situation, hide all women and children," Hannah continued for me, I nodded in agreement "That's why Hannah got all of the children out of the water in time," I said, they then nodded

As we were leaving the premises of the beach, I stared at the sky as I was walking, then I felt a tap on my shoulder, I stopped and turned to the person: it was Victor, he asked me if he could take me somewhere, I agreed

We were soon deep into the woods, we stopped, he turned to me, I turned to him, and our lips touched for five seconds, then we pulled apart, I blushed and he blushed, we headed back to the house where everyone was....
