Lena's POV

I decided to pay a visit to Kara at work in hope's of cheering her up. I quickly finished the paperwork that I felt were absolutely necessary and called to see if Kara was still in her office. Thankfully she was and I made my way to Catco.

As I made my way to her office I could see her pacing behind the glass door. I wanted to wrap her in a hug and kiss her and tell her that everything would be fine. I could at least do two of things.

"Kara?" I say walking into her office.

Her head snaps up to look at me and she let's out a sigh.

"I'm sorry Lena did I forget something? I've been stressed with somethings right now and I need to finish up our article" she groans.

"Oh Kara" I murmured. I walked to her and gave her a hug.

She seemed rigid at first but then I felt her melt against me and hold me tight. I rubbed her back soothingly since it seemed to help last time and waited for her to speak or move. She leaned back but her arms hung around my waist loosely, making me shiver.

"Thank you. I'm just having a bit of a bad day" she mutters.

"Is this about what James said about me?" I asked quietly.

"How did you-?"

"I'm a Luthor, darling. No one makes someone I love cry and expect nothing to happen" I smile. I didnt know if I really wanted her to catch on what I was saying, but a part of me was curious if she felt the same.

Her hands gently squeezed my sides and I squeezed her arms in return. It made me somehow feel special that Supergirl was holding me and looking at me with a sparkle in her eye.

Wait, what?

"Do you want to talk about it?" I whispered.

"Some other time. How about we go for a walk?" she smiles.

"Only if it's in our field" I chuckle.

Kara gives me a wink and we make our way out of the building to go to the field we had gone to the night she saved me.

We flew over the city and I buried my face in her neck. I was tempted to kiss her jawline but I clung to her more instead. As we landed in the field I took off my heels and left them at the edge. Luckily I had gone with  pants and a blouse and I walked out into the field. The grass was soft and green beneath my feet and I looked back to see if Kara was following.

Her cape dragged behind her, despite her being fairly tall, and she smiled. I knew this was exactly what she needed to stop worrying. I then broke out in a run knowing full well that as I did I was leaving any part of my CEO persona behind me. I was free. I was childish and had just wanted someone to love me. I didnt know for sure if Kara shared the same feelings that I did or if she also had the dreams. I just knew that in her presence I was completely, utterly, and disgustingly happy.

Kara's POV

I watched as Lena took off across the field in a dead run and laughed at her antics. I gave chase but remained at human speed. I felt almost careless of everything. Of course, I cared about Lena and worried that she might trip and fall or hurt herself somehow. That's besides the point. I felt happy. I felt free. I felt.... home.

We came up to a pond and Lena gave me a devilish look. I walked up beside her and looked into the pond. It was surprisingly clean and I could see a few fish. The next thing I knew I felt a push and I was in the water.

"Lena!" I gasped when I came to the surface. It was shallow enough for me to stand and I looked to the laughing woman on the grass.

"I'm sorry Kara. I just couldnt resist" she laughed. I flew out of the pond and grabbed her. "NO, KARA!"

We both went into the pond and were laughing til tears came to our eyes. Lena's business suit was probably ruined now but she didnt give any indication of caring. I floated on my back while I heard Lena wading through the water. I closed my eyes and soaked in the rays of the yellow sun.

I could feel that Lena was near me and I opened my eyes. I looked around but I didnt see her. Dread took over my body and I used my xray vision to look for her in the water. A splash sounded behind me and arms circled around me.

"Boo!" Lena cried. I spun around when she released me and stared at her with an open mouth. I pulled her into my arms and hugged her to me. I was nearly shaking with the thought that something happened to her.

"Please dont scare me like that. I thought I lost you" I murmured.

"I'm fine Kara. Hey, look at me. I'm not going anywhere" she said soothingly.

We pulled back and I could only continue staring. Her dark hair was wet and clinging to her shoulders and back. Her eyes bright in the sun and her skin shining with water. I didnt want to cross any boundaries since she didnt know but Rao did I want to.

She got closer to me and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Has anyone ever told you that you're really cute when you're flustered?" she smiles. My cheeks started to burn and I looked down in shyness. That was a very bad decision since her blouse was thin and now very wet. My eyes shot back up to look at the sky and I gently carried her out of the water.

"I believe you did Ms. Luthor" I tease. I unclipped my cape and handed it to her to cover herself.

I wasnt sure what it was but seeing Lena wrapped in my cape sent this indescribable feeling through me. I speedily spun and got most of the water off of me.

"Are you ready to go back?" I asked.

"I supposed there is a company waiting for me isnt there?" she sighs.

We make our way back out of the field to retrieve her shoes. I could have easily gotten them for her, but I wanted to prolong this time.

"I dont believe I've had this much fun in a long while. Thank you Kara" Lena said as we reached the edge.

"I should be thanking you for changing my sour mood" I say sheepishly.

"Any time" she smiles. I make my way to her and we take off into the sky again.

When we land back at L-corp she doesnt let me go. My cape was still draped over her smaller body and her hands slid down my arms slowly.

"Kara" she whispers.

"Yes, Lena?" I breathe. She looks up at me with those emerald eyes and she squeezes my arms.

"I have to tell you something."
