(A/N (because starting off the story with an author's note is a good way to start): Hi, this is a oneshot because why not also this story takes place in 2018

Why does it take place in 2018 some might ask? Because world building)

I woke up in the middle of the night. Consciousness floated towards me slowly, my eyes opening, dreary. The soft specks of light shone from the threads attached to the wall. The fairy lights gleamed, showing the white paint of the walls. I gripped my soft black pillow and closed my eyes again. I imagined the dark fabric of a certain roommate's t-shirt. I blushed, absentmindedly smiling into the pillow. I shifted my body, feeling the warmth of the blanket shift with it. I heard the hum of the fan in the background along with the soothing silence of my thoughts.

I know I would "wake up" soon but it was okay. I just wish i could skip a few moments in time just to see him again in the soft light of the morning.

My eyes opened again, I leaned away from the pillow I was hugging, reaching with my left arm to feel around for my phone. My hand grasped the hard plastic case and I tilted my face towards the bright screen. 6:39 am, 2 more or so hours until my roommate woke up as well. Thursday, October 18. One more day until Friday. Classes start at 9am, so that gives me 3 hours to enjoy myself. Nice, I thought. I scrolled (social media of choice) for a while until I felt awake enough to get up. I flipped the blanket off of myself, sliding out of bed. I felt the old carpet beneath my feet. Opening my door, quietly, I left it open, walking to the bathroom. I grab a washcloth from the cabinet next to the sink and run the tap. I used the cloth to wipe the grime off my face, ringing water out of  it and tossing it in the laundry basket when I was done. It was just starting to get light outside. I decide to leave the lights off. I brush my hair and went to the kitchen, cooking something quick. (insert sandwich you like, or something), I decided. Easy enough, could get ready in 30 minutes, leftovers last a few days in the fridge, perfect.

I wrap up a sandwich for my roommate and leave it on the counter, writing his name on it, adding a heart, I wrote "no homo" in parentheses. I smile to myself. I go back to my room to play some quality vidja games. I hear a door close in the hallway. My heart beats a little faster. I take off my headphones, wondering why he's up so early. I hear him in the kitchen, a few moments pass, and his door closes again. Ah, must've seen it, hah. I hop back into another round of bedwars, then i hear a buzz come from my phone. I go afk in the iron gen and pick it up.

"lol thanks".

"no prob"

"do you like it???"

"yes :)"

I smile but that is quickly faded when I hear the familiar ringing of the "you will be afk-ed in 10 seconds!" thing. I spammed wasd and the ringing stopped. I realized the 3 stacks of iron i had and instantly went to the items shop to get tools and the like.

The round lasted 30 minutes and we were so close to bed gone but some fellow comrade decided to break the remaining bed in a frenzy of a moshpit. Before they realized, the fighting orgy had become a rain of finals for me. I rode on a dragon as victory was splayed across the screen. I feel a rush of adrenaline, spamming right click on the paper to go to the next round. I checked the time to see it had become 8:30 oh-so quickly. I quickly closed the tab for mc. I quickly change into some casual shit and walk out my room. I knock on his door softly, hearing shuffling, the door opens.

I see him wearing a grey heather sweater with baggy black sweatpants. His light brown hair curled a little bit over the left lens of his glasses. "Yeah?" He said. "I'm leaving again, don't have too much fun without me." "I won't, I spent all night recording while you were asleep." He chuckled, I smiled. "I'll just spend the whole day editing, have fun at school, hah." "I won't, it'll be over soon enough though." I said playfully. "It's October still.." "Whatever, man," i said, putting my bag down on the floor and giving him a goodbye hug. I faced toward the right, pretending to focus on the Sony Vegas window he had up on his desktop.
