Chapter 4

I was at the science lab with my white laptop plopped on my criss-crossed legs while I was sitting on  a comfy business man chair looking up funny You-Tube videos about skateboarding turkeys. The aroma of chemicals was making me sick. I hate chemicals. They remind me of that little cold night that I got... Never mind , That was like 9 YEARS ago. I tried to calm my nerves and laugh it out. Even Maggie and Rose don't know my fear. They think I'm not scared of anything.

Finally the rest of the crew tumbled in the science lab , including Camilla who looked a little more dressed up then usual. I dug a hole and buried my 'feelings' DEEP down there. " Hello!" I chirped. Others replied while some waved. They quickly started getting the lab ready while we were told what we had to do for this test.

We all waited for the signal for the start of this test. Here's what we have to do: First we are in separate rooms with our backs turned from the glass-wall in the back of us. in the science lab. Bunches of colors and paint utensils were on a bland tile desk. We had to paint as much as our bare body as we can with any type of design that made us look completely different in 5 minutes. The more descriptive and the most paint on the body tells you if advanced top or regular. Then we  go to the main room and go to three separate tables. They'll hand us a list of ingredients to make a special chemical  and given 5 minutes to complete as much as possible.

A loud beep rang through the air making me immediately grab the basic pale and rosy red colors.  I started and paint  up my arm as quickly but carefully as possible. When I was done with one full arm and the side of my face, the bell rang to stop. I dropped my utensil and opened the door with my clear side only showing. I opened it to see everyone waiting anxiously. They were staring at Maggie's and Rose's half finished arms.  Rose had made a perfect imitation of her wallpaper. gray with darker gray stripes running perfectly up and right. But Maggie's was just dazzling. Her whole hand running up to her shoulder was painted to look exactly like a tree bark. Their were tiny cracks making it look so real. Since only my clear side was showing because I was turned to stare at Maggie and Rose , people looked at me confusingly , like they thought I didn't do anything. " Hey Aimee did you perhaps try to paint yourself?" I turned my head and looked at him confusingly , only to hear slight gasps.  I realized they must of not seen my artwork so I fully turned to them , making more gasp erupt. Was it really that bad? " Um.. Okay Maggie tells us you painting." Professor Zalchton said after staring at my face and arm for some time. " Well I made my arm look like the trees bark so I could easily camouflage in the wood without being spotted." Professor Zalchton nodded and asked the same to Rose. " In a organization facility or a high-tech gadget factory they usually have the walls like this, " Rose gestured towards her arm. " So it be easy to sneak in at night by plastering yourself against the wall." A few people clapped like they did to Maggie.

Suddenly all eyes were boring into me. Professor Zalchton ask the same question more nervously. " Well in a hospital there's always a burning unit." I gestured towards my face and arms. Yes I did look like I was swallowed in flames and just now had surgery and stuff like that. Really I know how a burn looks like. Just look at my leg. The reason why I never go swimming without a diving suit , or even in the hottest summer days I'm wearing long pants, or even that I don't let  Maggie and Rose EVER come into my room when I'm changing is because I didn't want to show it. I was scared really. The mark starts from below my thigh and crawls down until the side of my knee.

I quickly explained how you could pretend to be a patient if the bad guy was injured and taken to a certain hospital to recover, or if he was trying to pose as a doctor or nurse to kidnap someone , you could easily pretend and walk around without people why you were in the patients room or anything. They said we all could enter top but that mine was  more weirdly looking real then the other. I simply shrugged and took off the painting , hearing sighs of relief when I turned around 'burn free'. We were escorted to the lab and given the ingredients.
