fall was your favorite season for a few reasons.
its perfect for late walks, warm tea, and sweaters. you also loved how colorful the scenery is this time of year. you loved to find somewhere to sit down and draw everything around you.
which was what you were currently doing.

you went to your usual spot, a small bench that had a beautiful view of trees and a lake out in the distance. youve made it your usual spot for while now, as you've been working on a drawing of the whole thing.
it captivated you how the view looked a little different everytime.

as you were in the midst of drawing, you heard footsteps approach.

"hey uh, is anyone sitting here?" a low voice asked.

you look up from your sketchbook to be met by a welcoming face. his nose and cheeks were tinted pink from the somewhat cold weather, and his hair was messy as it stuck out from the front of his beanie. you wondered if he'd been walking around for quite some time.

"nope, you can sit there." you smiled.
you also wondered why he wanted to sit here next to a stranger when he could've just found another bench. not that you had a problem, you just found it sort of strange. especially since the place was basically deserted.

"its a bit chilly out here, isnt it?" he turned and looked at you. you clearly noticed he wasn't from america.

"yea, it is. last year was a bit colder though." you stated.

"i get that, it gets pretty bad back in england too." he said.

"so that's where you're from." you said.

"yep, as you can tell." he chuckled.
a gust of wind blew, making him pull his beanie more over his ears.

you went back to drawing a bit more, as a silence fell between the two of you.

after a few moments, you decided to break the silence.

"so, what's your name mr. english man?" you mocked his deep accent, causing you both to laugh.

"its ryan, and you?" he asked.

"y/n." you softly smiled at him, causing him to do the same.

"you know, ive always wanted to visit england." you told ryan.

"and ive always wanted to visit america, hence why im here now."

"do you like it so far? i mean, im sure england is far better than this place right?" you were genuinally curious.

"ah, i love it. like come on, look at these views and everything around. its something new to me, its nice." you saw his eyes wonder to your sketchbook.

"and i see you must enjoy it as much as i do." he smirked.
he continued looking.
"you are actually super good, wow." he gently took it from your lap to get a closer look.

"its not my best work but i couldn't resist, this view is pretty amazing." you explained.

he started flipping through a few pages. his face was in complete awe.

"you can literally draw anything, this is awesome!" he exclaimed.

"thank you, that means a lot." you really did mean it.

"no problem." be beamed.
he then handed the book back to you.

time was going by which meant the weather was slightly dropping.

"i shouldve brought a bigger jacket." you laughed as you tried wrapping your jacket more around yourself to keep warm.

"i could say the same." he replied.

you noticed the two of you were now sitting closer than before.

it was quiet for a moment or two before ryan spoke up.

"ya know, it was really nice meeting you y/n." he said.

"you too ryan, i guess we could consider ourselves best friends." you said, being a little sarcastic.

"yea, i guess we could." he let out a small laugh.

you guys sat there for another hour or so, talking about anything and everything.

"hey ryan, im really sorry but i should probably get going. i have some things to take care of." you told him, wishing you didn't have to.

"aw, that's alright. i understand." he stood up, you doing the same.

"well hopefully we'll see each other again." you hoped.

"why hope? why not make it happen?" he questioned.

you were slightly confused at what he was trying to say.

"what?"

he reached in your hands and grabbed your pencil and sketchbook.
he opened to the very last page and scribbled something down in the top corner, then handed your things back to you.

"ill catch ya tomorrow." he winked at you and started to walk away.

you watched him walk for a minute before opening your book to read what he wrote.

you cheekily smiled as you read the little note that said:

"you really thought you could get rid of me that easily? meet me at the coffee shop on the corner of south street at 9 :) nice meeting you y/n."

you walked home with a little pip in your step, knowing you were seeing him again. you really enjoyed this boys company, and he enjoyed yours too.
