"please just come along, it'll be so much better if you did." your best friend was telling you. her grandparents were out of town, so she decided she was going to have a party.

"why? just so i can sit there with a drink in my hand the whole time?" you scoffed and sat down on your bed.

"listen, my grandparents' house has plenty of things to do and hell, if you decide to sit in the guest bedroom and binge netflix shows all night, go ahead. i just want you to be there." she smiled at you.

you gave in, but only because netflix was involved.
"okay okay, fine." you rolled your eyes and laughed.

"YES!," she squealed, "alright so it starts in about an hour or so, so we need to get you dressed up." she giggled and went over to your closet.

"for what? i don't plan on really impressing anyone." you said.

"for what you ask? well, you know that girl i met at the last party we went to?" she turned around and asked you.

"yea, she was cool. why?" you were curious.

"she got in contact with me so i told her about my party and she said she would come but i guess she's bringing a group of her friends along too."

"so to sum it up, boys. there's gonna be boys." you assumed.

and your assumption was right, after all.

"here, wear this." she handed you the pieces of clothing which were high waisted jeans, a thick black belt, and an off the shoulder cheetah print crop top.
to pair it you wore vintage-looking dark brown shoes.

both of you finished the rest of your looks before you headed over to the house.

"you know, you throw a mean party." you said looking around at all the people that were already waiting outside.

"the life of the party is here!" y/bsf/n yelled as she wrapped her arm around your shoulder.

and that's when it all started.

-

It had only been about an hour and y/bsf/n was already tipsy. she had always been a lightweight.

you were standing in the kitchen, leaning on the small bar counter they had. you didn't like to get too drunk, considering you had to take care of y/bsf/n afterwards. plus, getting shitfaced never sparked your interest.

"hey, there's y/n." y/bsf/n pointed over to you, a group of people following behind her.

you recognized the girl y/bsf/n was telling you about, and you assumed that was her group of friends.

"y/n, meet jade, sam, timothee and ryan." she introduced you. you smiled at them, being friendly.

this ryan guy caught your eye.

"nice to meet you guys." you gave a small smile to them.

"you too." ryan made his way to the front of the group.

you all made your way toward the living room which was basically where all the 'fun' was. just the sight of all the people dancing 2 inches away from each other already made you uncomfortable.

"you gonna come daaaance?" your semi-drunk friend asked.

"you know me, I'll probably just make my way to the back porch like always." you chuckled.

"that's alright, you know where to find me." she told you as she shuffled her way into the large crowd of people.

you decided to grab a soda from the kitchen countertop before going off to do your own thing.

as you walked on the large porch, you saw only one other person. they were sitting with their back towards you, and their feet in the small hot tub in front of them.
you sighed, wishing it was just you but you should've expected it.

the more you examined this person, the more familiar they became.

"hey y/n." they said to you, snapping you out of your train of thought. turns out, it was ryan.

you suddenly became confused, "didn't I just see you?" you questioned.

"I was just as fast as you were getting back here I guess." he awkwardly chuckled.

you walked near him,
"may i?" you smiled.
he nodded his head back at you.

you took your shoes off, rolled up your jeans and stuck your feet in.

"so I assume you get dragged to a lot of these things, huh?" ryan asked as he gestured towards the party.

"unfortunately, I do." you told him.

"I'm not too big into the whole party thing either honestly, I guess that makes the two of us." he turned to you and smiled. it was a quite a cheeky smile, but you enjoyed it.

you also came to assume that yea, he wasn't too big on parties but that wasn't stopping him from drinking.
-
the both of you talked for what seemed to be hours. becoming more and more comfortable with each other's presence, the smaller the space between you became. that also meant that ryan may have become a little more intoxicated as time went by.

"I'm shocked that we haven't met before this." ryan pointed out. he made a good point.

"yea, me too." you agreed.

"I know I probably shouldn't let this cheap alcohol get to me right now but, you've got some looks, you know that?"
his eyes contained a somewhat mischievous look as he glanced over at you.
you looked down at the water in front of you, trying to distract yourself.

"I'm sorry if that was too much, oh god." he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"oh no, don't worry about it." you laughed.

"what's so funny, huh?" he slurred with a grin spread across his face.

"nothing other than the fact that you are going to be completely clueless tomorrow morning." you said.

"I may be d-runk but, I do know what I'm saying. I'm not THAT stupid," he continued, "I really did mean what I said earlier though."
you felt your face become hot again, except this time he seemed to take notice.

"ohhhh, someone's blushinggg!" he exclaimed, jokingly shoving your shoulder.
that made you laugh.

"now this is the part where you tell me that I'm not too bad myself." he whispered as he quite literally puffed out his chest.

"and what if I don't?" you smirked and raised an eyebrow.

"then consider me dead."

and that's when a boost of confidence suddenly took control of you. you quickly pecked his lips, almost instantly regretting it after.

"shit, I'm so sorry." you sighed. worries and questions went through your mind, one of them being "what if he thought I took advantage of him?"

that all went away as he reached over and kissed you again, deeper this time.

"would you want to go out sometime?" he abruptly asked you. of course you took his offer, with the feeling of butterflies and nervousness in your stomach.

after a night like this one, you considered coming to "these party things," more often. y/bsf/n was gonna get a kick out of this.
