Wednesday morning, 27 July 2016.
The fifteen year old Maya Hart is on a bus heading to Philadelphia for a visit which could be temporary or permanent.
All depending on how she does act.
Of course Maya can't control how long this visit will be otherwise she would be on a bus back to New York.
It was close to eight-thirty the morning and Maya saw the sign.

'Welcome to Philadelphia.'

She is about 12 miles from the house and she doesn't actually want to get too excited.
She was fed up with her History teacher slash best friend's father who sensed her to his parents and younger brother for goodness knows how long.
It was a nice warm day in Philadelphia.
It was just above eighty degrees, maybe heading to ninety.
Maya definitely wasn't ready to get her day started and she wasn't going to let anything change that.
The bus stops in front of a huge double if not triple story house.
Maya climbs off the huss and gets her suitcase, backpack and guitar.
She sigh as the bus disappeared.
No turning back now.
Maya knocked at the door and a lady in her early sixties came out.

"Maya. Welcome darling. Come in," Amy said and Maya stepped in.
"Thank you Mrs Matthews. And thank you for letting me stay here. I appreciate it," Maya said.
"Ah. I thought I heard you. Welcome Maya," Alan said and gave Maya a hug.
"Hi Mr Matthews," Maya said.
"Let me take that," Alan said.
"Thank you," Maya said.
"All I can say is welcome. What about some coffee?" Amy asked.
"That will be wonderful," Maya said.
"I'm putting this in the room. Can I take the backpack and guitar?"
"Yeah," Maya said and gave everything to Alan.
"Let's go."

"Sorry my son isn't here. He is going to be here a bit later. He and his friends are enjoying summer. Tipical teenager," Amy said.
"Ah it's fine. I'm just glad to be here," Maya said and May gave her a mug.
"Thanks. It's very homely. You have a beautiful home," Maya said.
"Thank you darling."
"Suitcase is in your room. I'll show you it in a moment. What about some oatmeal or do you eat something else?" Alan asked.
"I'm not actually hungry. If you don't mind I would love to get everything unpacked," Maya said.
"Let me show you the room," Alan said.

"There you go. It's not much but I'm sure it will do for now."
"It's perfect thank you Mr Matthews," Maya said.
"Okay I'll leave you to unpack and then we'll show you around," Alan said and went out of the room.

Maya sigh as she realizes she'll have to get used to everything pretty fast.

It was about half an hour later.
Alan and Amy are sitting outside in the garden while Maya is still unpacking.
A boy of seventeen comes out.
Dark hair, blue eyes any girl's dream guy.

"She's here," Alan said and Josh rolled his eyes.
"I..." Josh said as he sat down on the grass.
"Am not keeping a fifteen year old company. I told Cory that."
"Well apparently she is quite a rebel so you'll get along just fine," Alan said.
"She's unpacking," Amy said and Maya came out.

Josh didn't take much notice to the young girl and had no desire.

"Maya this is our son, Joshua. Josh this is Maya," Amy said.
"Not playing babysitter," Josh said and went back inside.
