Pretending There's Life (a teen pregnancy)

Chapter 3

As I entered detention, I noticed that the classroom was empty, like not a single other student in there! How could this be?! I thought detention was usually packed!

I sat down in a desk at the back, and after about 5 minutes, a whole load of people entered; but...they're late! I thought to myself, before realizing that no one arrives at detention early, well, except for me...

I eagerly looked at the people to see if I could spy Josh, but I just couldn't find his cute smile, adoring eyes, sexy sandy blond hair that he sweeps back to catch the girls eyes... Oh sorry! Right, back to the story !! :)

A girl sat down at the desk next to me, and looked me up and down.

"I haven't seen you here before, what's ya name?" She queried.

"Yeah well, always time to try new things! My names Penny, you?" I tried to give a 'cool' smile and answer calmly, when inside I was fighting the butterflies! This was it! Time for someone popular to recognize me, and well, show the world I wasn't just goody girl Penny!

"Kate. Who were you looking for? I saw you staring at the doorway." Kate replied.

"Oh um, I was just looking for a guy I know...but he hasn't come in yet." I stammered. Kate was obviously from the year above, but I knew that the different years populars hung out at parties and stuff.

" Ooh! Who?!" Kate replied eagerly; obviously a girl for gossip!

" Josh, Josh Demrox."

" JOSH?! You have a crush on him don't you?!"

" Well, I guess you could say that..."

"Just so you know, he got put on yard duty for this detention, so you won't be seeing him here."

"Oh." I looked down, disappointed that he wouldn't get to see my first detention.

"But afterwards, I could you know, introduce you to him..."

" ohmigod really?! Oh I mean uhm yeah sure, that would be great." I smiled, but inside I was grinning like mad!

" Okay cool." Kate turned away, to talk to other people, but got stopped when a teacher walked in the room and sat down.

For the next 30 minutes I stared out the window until the teacher got up and said we were free to go. I jumped up and grabbed my bag. Kate turned around and smiled.

"Ready?"

"Yep!"

We went off in the direction of the oval, and walked for awhile before I saw any other person. My heart started beating so fast, until we got close and I saw it was only the cleaner...

But then we turned the corner and I saw him. Standing in the sunlight, the sun highlighting his natural blond hair, and making his hazel eyes glisten. (a/n; blue eyes just seemed too stereotypical :))

Kate waved at him. He waved back and smiled that gorgeous smile!

"Hey Josh! How was yard duty?!"

" oh you know, fantastic, I'd do it again at the drop of a hat!" Funny AND cute!

" Haha, oh well, detention wasn't great either, Mr O'Gardy came in and stayed the whole time!"

"Oh bugger. Who's this pretty one then?" He called me pretty! Joshua Demrox called Penelope Waters PRETTY!!

Kate answered, " This is Penny, I met her in detention."

"Hey." Josh said while smiling.

"Hi!" I giggled back.

"So first detention then?"

"Haha yep. Wasn't too bad, although I can think of things better to do!"

"Oh yeah, believe me, there is. Like yard duty!" I laughed. He was so friendly and kind. I think I'm in love!

Kate suddenly interrupted, saying she had places to be, people to see, so we said goodbye, and mouthed a silent thank you.

" So then Penny, looks like its just you and me. Wanna hang?"

"I'd love to!"

"Awesome, here let me take your bag." Cute and a gentleman!

He took my bag, and placed his spare arm around my waist, as we walked out towards the student carpark, and he directed me to his car.

I opened the passenger door of his car, and sat down. Josh sat down next to me and looked at me.

"Where to beautiful?" He smiled and I had to breathe deeply as my heart sped up.

"Wherever, as long as I'm with you." I know, corny, but I got a peck on the cheek for it!

"Your wish is my command!"

He drove off, and soon we came to the most gorgeous park. Josh stopped the car and we got out. He came around to me, and clutched my hand. He squeezed it gently.

"Why haven't we met sooner gorgeous?"

I giggled, and as I looked up at Josh, his head came closer to mine, and his arms gently cupped my face. He pulled me closer to him, and our lips met.
