The Bucket List
Item Number Eight - Snuggle Closer
Normally, spending weeks at a time with solely a person made you sick of them, no matter who it was. And perhaps that's true. In fact, that's accurate with every person I had ever met; after about a matter of days, I ran for cover just to avoid them.
So to say I was absolutely mind-blown when I was able to willingly spend two months hanging out with Chase was an understatement. It wasn't until recently that I realized something was utterly wrong with me. One, he was all I could think about, and two, I let him borrow On the Far Side of the Mountain, which was one of my favorite books.
I was sure that my actions had surpassed normality. Not only was I fidgeting in my seat constantly but I also checked the clock every five minutes whenever we had plans. It was a disease!
The only disadvantage to Chase that I had soon realized was that he had a brother. And that brother so happened to be an pain in the ass, but Chase outweighed any con I had.
In a matter of seconds, the bell rang for the end of the day. I didn't bother to hide my excitement as I remembered the plans Chase and I had made for today.
"Hey." My favorite voice said, making me snap my head to his direction.
"Hi Chase." I smiled.
"Are you still up for pizza and a movie?" He asked, putting his arm around my shoulders comfortably. My heart skipped a beat and my cheeks blushed.
I would never get used to him.
We kept walking down the halls to his car, ignoring the occasional and incredulous glances of the people we passed.

I stepped in, face in hands at my lack of reasoning. It wasn't even that long ago that I had learned that being within a ten mile radius within Jayden was a hazard, yet here I was, in the nucleus of his evil.
"Make yourself at home, Farrah." Chase chimed, gesturing me towards his couch as he popped in a DVD into the player.
I watched as he placed the pizza box on the coffee table in front of me and ran to what I assumed was the kitchen. I took a panoramic look about his living room. Everything was neat and clean; the room was filled with a woodsy smell and had a dark wood theme. It was absolutely breathtaking.
"Do you need help?" I offered, watching him scurry with excitement. I still was very impressed by it all, but most intrigued at a large painting of what I assumed was his dad, Jayden, and him.
"I got it." He called out, coming back with two plates and two cans of iced tea.
"Thanks." I said politely.
"You seem tense," he observed, furrowing his brows, "Is everything okay?"
Of course I was tense. The thing you call a brother was in the same house as I was.
"No, everything's fine." I assured him, leaning back on the couch as the movie started.
"Alright."
He handed me a plate while opening the pizza box and serving himself a slice. Soon enough, I followed and began to get comfortable. After a while, I felt Chase shifting on the couch, moving in closer to me. My stomach turned inside out like it never had before.
"Chase." I whispered.
"Mm?" He mumbled, too interested in the movie.
"It's getting late."
"Stay a while longer." He pleaded, snuggling in closer to me.
I could feel the warmth radiate off of him, a direct contrast to the wintriness in the room. I could not move. Actually, that was a lie; I did not want to move. Instead, I snuggled closer to him as he wrapped his arm around my shouders.
"Just a bit longer." I smiled, breathing in his scent.
