Chapter 4

we started the treasure hunt and payton didn't say a word so after 5 minutes..
mia: hey.. um i know we just met but you seem upset at me so whatever i've done i'm really really sorry
payton: pffft sure you are😒
mia: what's that supposed to mean... 😯😟
payton: nothing i just thought you were different
mia: different from...?
payton: i guess i just didn't think you would be the girl to threaten someone
mia: hang on.. threaten someone? what are you talking about?
payton: i'm talking about you threatening my mum! (sorry for how i spell Mum/Mom i'm australian)
mia: WHAT!? i would NEVER threaten anyone let alone your mum!
payton: yeah well that's not what i heard
mia: and where'd you hear that from huh??
payton: that's none of your business
mia: i mean it kind of is
he didn't answer
i was confused. what does he mean? i've never met his mum!
PAYTONS POV
when i mentioned it to mia she wounded completely surprised. she couldn't have been acting. she genuinely had no idea what i was talking about. but avani wouldn't lie to me. i won't believe a stranger over my own girlfriend.
MIAS POV
we were silently walking for 5 more minutes until i saw a little girl. she was crying and looking around and she was stuck in a big crowd. i ran over to her.
PAYTONS POV
(A/N: sorry for all the POV changes)
we were just walking and mia ran off 😒 i was really confused but i was also pissed at her so i just ignored it and stood there wondering where to go now. i saw Mia and saw her talking to a girl who looked around the age of 6 and i listened to their conversation
mia: hey!!
she said softly
mia: hey i'm Mia what's your name
??: Sophie
mia: hey sophie! are you okay?
sophie: i'm lost 😭
mia: that's okay! i'll help you! who did you come here with??
sophie: my mum
mia: okay can you tell me what she looks like
i zoned out of what they were saying and just stood there. i was surprised. how could this be the same person who threatend my mum. it made no sense. i didn't know what to believe. i zoned back in to figure out what was going on
mia: okay we are gonna ask the security over there if he has seen her
i saw them start walking and i decided to follow so i could keep listening
security: oh yeah i saw her a couple minutes ago. oh there she is!
mia: thank you so much
i saw the little girl run over to a woman who turned out to be her mum. they hugged and i looked back at mia to see her smiling sweetly at them. mia walked up to them and gave the girl a bead bracelet and she hugged her and waved goodbye and came back to me. there was no way mia threatened my mum.
mia: hey sorry i was just getting a drink
payton: oh.. right..
MIAS POV
i don't know why i lied to payton. i guess i just thought he'd think i'm showing off trying to get him to forgive me which is stupid because i don't even know his mum

TIME SKIP
cynthia: well me and chase won that 😂
dylan: it's getting kind of late though we should probably head to our hotel rooms
mia: yeah i'll get the uber
we all started walking when payton yelled
payton: WAIT! avani can i talk to you for a second
avani: yeah
jackson: we will wait outside for the uber
avani: okay what's up
payton: mia.. she didn't threaten my mum
