Princess Rose
-dellyne
In a far away kingdom, there lived a wasted prince; who loves nothing but his fancy girls and alcohols. He never tries to be pleasing to the king and queen. His everyday life is the hostelry. Girls satisfy his lusts.
One day, there came a childish girl with the same age at the hostelry. No one can be compared to her beauty. The eyes of the prince catches glimpse of her. She was so kind to anyone whom she met. Her visage cannot express her happiness.
The prince followed her but she’s too swift. Every day, he would go to the town to talk to her and they became closer.
“What is your name, miss?” asked he to the maiden.
“Nothing important as the gold you have.” answered her. The prince got curious asking her everyday but no answers he had.
At a joyous moment of the girl, the prince tries to win her. He offered her with every gold, silver or any precious stones he had but still; the answer is no. He became reluctant and sad. He asked her if what she wanted.
“All I wanted was nothing more precious than of the things you have. Diamonds, rubies, gold or silver have not satisfied woman but only one can. It is hidden in the forest. It blooms and withers but no one can utter its beauty for a woman in love to have. It crawls down the earth and the walls. It is the color of war and can cause pain by its thorns.” She answered while dancing near a deep well in town.
“I-if I c-can give you what you ought to have, would you be mine?”asked the prince again. She just flew away with the wind nowhere to be found. He was dumbfounded by her.
Not any single thing does the prince know about the riddle of the mysterious girl. He called forth his butlers to search for answers on the book but none did he found. He was mortified in his thoughts to have not found the answers. All he did was to frown and nothing can make him happy. The king and queen got worried because of his actions.
While gazing outside his window, the prince saw a sprouting flower that blooms. He went to the forest beyond the castle’s realm. There, an old castle was ruined. It seemed quite familiar to his vision. While, roaming around there, he saw a beautiful flower unknown to his knowledge. He tried to get it but it sliced his finger’s skin. He drew his sword to get it instead. He was happy on his way back home.
The prince happiness became gloomy. The king ordered his men to watch over him because soon, he will be married. He protested but still defeated by his father’s command. An old maid came to his room.
“If I may ask, do you know what this called?” asked he to the old maid while showing her a flower.
“Oh, what a beautiful Rose it is.” answered the old maid.
“So Rose was it called.” said the prince with a smile on his face.
“A princess was named after it that was found dead after the war of many kingdoms.” started she while pouring tea for the prince.
“Tell me more.” The prince was hyped up with the old maid’s story.
“She was very beautiful and fair. It is sad that she died at a young age.” continued she.
“Why was she not protected by his knights?” curiously asked the prince.
“Well, she was fought over by many kingdoms because of her beauty—“the story of the old maid was unfinished because the king is finding her.”If I may, your highness.” She said and was to go but the prince stopped her.
