THERE WAS BLOOD IN MY TEARS

Narrator pov

Knock. Knock. Knock. Jahseh and Ashanti both begin to sqiurm in their sleep, another three knocks followed the previous three louder this time. Jahseh is now groaning in confusion and slight irritation being that it is 6 in the morning. The knocks have now turned into bangs follwed by an angry "JAHSEH ONFROY IF YOU DON'T GET THAT ASS UP AND COME OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR" being uttered. The sound of this voice makes him jump straight up out of his sleep with wide eyes and nothing to say but "YES MA'AM, COMING" and a "Fuck! she's a week early"...

Ashanti pov

I was scared shitless awake by the sound of jah screaming "YES MA'AM, COMING" and literally running out of the bed, before i could ask who he was talking to or why tf he was yelling so early in the morning he was out the door and down the stairs opening up the front door. My mind was racing at the thought of who could possibly be making him hurry to the door this early in the morning, could he have been seeing someone this whole time? that thought lowkey made my blood boil, am i jealous of this mystery women on the other side of the front door? then jah said something that made my heart drop.

Jahseh pov

"Heyyyy mamaa, you're back early" i said nervously while remembering that ashanti was still in her house. in my bed. I was thinking about all the ways my mom would kill me if she saw her without me explaining the situation first. 

"what took you so damn long boy? and where's my other baby?" she said snapping me out of my thoughts, i explained to her that aiden was still at the sleepover she said he could go to on the phone just last night and how i was asleep AND it was 6:40 in the morning AND she was a week early so i wasn't expecting company. She gave me a brief "mhm" and started heading towards the stairs with her suitcases, that's when it hit me that i had left my room door wide open and shanti was in there.

"uh- lemme help you wit those bags ma" i said with urgency in my voice and a smile on my face as i sped walked up to her scooped up the bags and walked in front of her towards the stairs in one swift motion. "whew thank you baby" i just smiled and nodded continuing upstairs and past my room thanking the holy man himself that my door had actually been shut, i let out an audible breathe of relief causing my mama to ask what's wrong i just told her the bags were kinda heavy and we both chuckled.

Ashanti pov

I can hear jahseh and his mom walk past his room laughing a lil, i let out a breathe of relief and started to process everything that's going on like the fact that me and jah were sleeping in the same bed last night... WHY WERE ME AND JAH SLEEPING IN THE SAME BED?? that's something i'll have to worry about later rn i need to worry about how i'm a stranger hiding in a clueless mother's son's room and what she'll do to me and him if she sees me. 

How come he didn't tell me anything about his mom? where she was? when she would be back? did he even ask if i could stay? why didn't i ask where she was? i have so many questions to bombard him with but right when i was getting ready to get out of my hiding spot the door flings open and i plop back down onto the floor, i quickly realize it's jah because he comes in and starts whispering my name.

"ashanti?.. shanti where you at girl??" he whisper yells while closing the door back, i reveal myself and ask him why he didn't tell me his mom was coming, he tells me he didn't know and that she was home early from a business trip, i nod then ask him if he even let her know i had been staying here to which he responds with silence and a worried look on his face. 

Jahseh pov

"Jahseh, you didn't tell her?!" she "whisper yelled" with more yell than whsiper.

"i swear i was gonna tell ha but spending all this time with you and having to basically kick ski out yesterday i never found the time, everything has happened so fast but that's my bad" she just looked at me and told me i had to tell her. I know i should but i really don't know how she'll react, after what feel like an hour of shanti staring at me and me avoiding her gaze i finally sighed and gave in.

"Fine!, i'll tell her" she gave me a smile and i walked out of me bedroom and slowly started down the hall towards my mama's room, i could feel my heartbeat in my throat as i approached her door and put my hand on the knob, before i made the effort to knock, i looked over my shoulder to see ashanti peeking her head out of my room and down the hall observing. When she noticed i spotted her she gave me a quick thumbs up and grin. I turned back around, knocked and waited for my mom to give me the ok to come in, after a few seconds i heard her voice ask "what's up" letting me know i could enter....
