Til Death Do Us Apart

chapter 1

            Natalie p.o.v 

     As we quickly ran through the gates of the village, I looked back with tears filling my eyes I'm trying to think positive and stay strong but sadness takes over as I think of all the possible things that can happen to my mom as she stays by herself now. I wipe the few tears that slipped out and catch up to my sisters as we started to walk towards the middle of nowhere. "where are we supposed to even go" asked Katherine  " to be honest I don't know  but let's hope we find some type of shelter for tonight" I tried to  sound as positive as I could but failed. Madeline notices this and grabs my hand " you know mom always told us to have faith we are gonna be fine but you shouldn't be faking that you're fine, right now we all are scared and we don't know what to expect" she gives me a quick hug making me sigh. 

  ~ Time Skip ~

      "We have been walking forever can we stop just for a few minutes my feet hurt" Katherine groaned as she begins to slow down. "I know Natalie we have been walking for so long we need a break, I'm exhausted. " Madeline said trying to convince me so we can take a break.  "can both of you stop complaining I think we found some shelter " I point towards the cabin. "Finally!" Madeline says and starts running towards the cabin. when we try to open the door it was locked we looked around to see if anybody was in there but no one was there. "look for a key or something "Madeline and I start looking under anything we could but there was nothing. we heard a glass break that made me and Madeline look up quickly " wh-what was that ?"  Madeline looks at me with fear laced in her voice. "wait where is Katherine ?" I start freaking out. "Kath where are you!" tears were filling up Madeline eyes " omg did we lose her already". " I'm right here idiots" we turn to see Katherine at the door. "omg you stupid ass you scared us" I let out a sigh of relief.  " you guys were being stupid and didn't think about just breaking a window to get inside, so are you guys gonna come inside or are you guys gonna stand out here and cry because I'm "missing" she puts up air quotations when she says missing. 

We enter the house and straight away I can tell nobody has been here for a couple of months I would guess because there is dust everywhere. " let's look around" I start walking towards what looks like the kitchen I open the cabinets and mini-fridge to see if there is any food but there is nothing only spiderwebs and rotten fruits in the fridge. I start walking towards the bedroom where I find Madeline looking around " anything interesting" I ask her  making her look up.  " well I'm gonna guess this was were a family lived cause there was a box with some family pictures and in the closet there are some clothes but they have some dust on them maybe they can be useful and well the bed it has some dirt but I think it's gonna  be fine for us to sleep on we can put a blanket over it" I nod looking over at the queen bed . "ahhhhh!" we hear Katherine yell and we ran towards where she was " what!" I see her standing on the toilet seat " there was a huge ass rat!" I roll my eyes " Katherine this is an old place, of course, there is gonna be some rodents here but only yell if there is an actual emergency" she just nodded her head as she jumps off the toilet. " well did you find anything here" I asked looking around the decent-sized restroom. " well there is water lucky us and I found another first aid kit" she hands me the kit and I hand it to Madeline so she can put it in the duffle bag . 

I continued to look around and there was another room but it looked like it was a little girl's room it was pink and the bed was much smaller than the last room. I look inside the closet and find many toys it reminded me a lot of my room when I was smaller. " hey, nat" Madeline interrupts my train of thoughts  " yea?" I look at her stand by the bedroom door. "  I found a charger and a cellphone hopefully we can communicate with somebody to come and help and I think we should all go to sleep it is getting pretty late and we need to start walking again tomorrow, want to sleep here or with Katherine and me?"  " Umm I think I'm gonna sleep with you guys this place still gives me chills" I chuckle exiting the room.
