After 'An evening with Fleetwood Mac' Stevie was searching for a new outlet She didn't want to record a new album with the band, because it would feel as the ultimate betrayal to Lindsey. For the first time in years she didn't feel that her material was strong enough for a solo record. She was feeling restless in het Sancta Monica condo. Even the ocean couldn't bring het peace of mind. She didn't like being bored, because her mind wouldn't stop thinking. Lately she was thinking of Lindsey a lot. She was wondering how he was after his heart surgery. She wondered if the rumours were true and Lindsey's vocal cords were really wrecked. She wouldn't admit it, but the ultimatum she gave the band was pretty shitty. She wanted Lindsey out of her life and she got her wish. Now she wanted nothing more than take back all the harsh words.

Suddenly she remembered something her friend Sharon told her. A new rock opera just opened on Broadway. It was the story of a struggling duo, looking for their piece of the American dream. Apparently the show ended with a mini concert, with covers from popular bands. Sharon had heard the lead singer belt 'gypsy' and she reminded her of a young Stevie. Why not see that girl for herself, Stevie thought. She could just as well be lonely in New York.

A few days later Karen had arranged a plane, tickets for the show and a marvelous suite in Stevie's favorite hotel. In the plane she read the articles on the show Karen selected. The male lead was Nick Jonas. Stevie vaguely recognized his name. Seeing his picture she admired his brown curls. It reminded her of... She tried her best not to go there. He wrote the musical with his ex-girlfriend Sara, who was the female lead. Sara had turned to Nick because she knew he would make her songs great and would understand what the her words really meant for her. Again Stevie saw resemblances. When she continued reading she discovered that the songs were produced by non other than her star crossed lover Lindsey Buckingham. Did he felt drawn to the story, just like her? Was he thinking about Buckingham Nicks too? She couldn't let herself go there.

In New York Stevie put on some light make up, her sunglasses and a simple black blouse and leggings. She wanted to be incognito. Seeing the show caused a turmoil of emotions for Stevie. The story of a girl and her boyfriend looking for success in Hollywood with their beautiful music really hit her. At the end of the show both protagonist had found success apart from each other, but not together. They realized just in time that something was missing and they found their way back. Stevie was thinking about Lindsey again. Maybe she could find here way back to Lindsey and maybe it was destiny.

At the end of the show Nick and Sara sang 'Shallow' from the movie 'A star is born'. Stevie was moved to tears. Their voices harmonized perfectly. Sara had a raspy, raw voice. Stevie could definitely see what Sharon meant. They kind of looked alike too. Sara had brown curls and chocolate eyes.

After the show a car brought Stevie back to her hotel. She called Karen and asked her to book tickets for the show the day after. She needed to see the show again and relive some Buckingham Nicks memories. She also wanted to meet Sara and tell her herself how much she loved the show. She wondered if Lindsey would be backstage? Is a producer at the show every night? She felt nervous thinking about him.

The next night Stevie again was mesmerized by the beautiful musical. At the end of the show Nick toke the microphone, pulling Sara close to him and started to speak. 'This beautiful girl turns 30 today. Why don't we sing our birthday wishes together". "Thank you so much", Sara said, "and special thanks to this wonderful cast and band, who allow me to bring my favorite music to you all. Here's Free Fallin". Hearing the girl sing her favorite Tom Petty song, brought all kinds of emotions. First off all, she was drawn by the beautiful voice. The song made her miss Tom even more. She needed his advice on a new album or not, but he was gone now.

After the show an usher brought Stevie backstage. First of all she was introduced to Nick. Being a popstar himself, he wasn't to impressed with the guest of honor. 'Miss Nicks, how lovely to have you here tonight', he said, "Sara will be so thrilled. She's a huge Fleetwood Mac fan. Can I take you to her dressing room'. Stevie nodded. She always felt humbled by other musicians loving her music.

Sara's dressing room was open. The kids who were in the cast tonight sat around her. Her back was to the door. She was playing the guitar. When she started to sing, Stevie immediately recognized her song. 'And if you see my reflectiooooon', Sara sang. Nick thought about how embarrassed Sara would be if she knew Stevie stood behind her. When she ended the song, everyone was quiet. After thanking the kids for their amazing performance, they left the room. It was than Sara noticed Nick and Stevie in her room. She immediately looked flushed.

'Miss Nicks, it's such an honor to meet you. Sorry for ruining your song', Sara said. 'Please, honey, call me Stevie', she answered, 'you have a lovely voice. I enjoyed every minute of the show and the after show. Happy Birthday'. They talked for a while and it felt like they knew each other for years. Their talk was interrupted by a male, shouting at Sara: 'Are you ready some people have real jobs'. 'I'm sorry", Sara continued, 'My boyfriend is really tired'. Stevie noticed the girl's bright eyes, suddenly looked sad. "Why don't we continue this over lunch', Stevie asked. Sara quickly agreed and gave Stevie the address of a lovely Italian place near the theatre. She couldn't wait to know more about her idol.
