"No, thank you, beautiful. You've brought my club more money than any of these other girls." Chris said while he held me in a hug.
I pulled away and smiled at him, chuckling lightly.
"I'll carry your bin to your car for you sweetie." Chris said picking up my box that was holding all of the items I had stored in my locker.
"Nah bro, she good." Nas said walking into Chris' office. I looked at Nas who had a look of disgust on his face.
"Are you sure? It's fine, she was my best worker, I'd do anything to ke-"
"I just told you, she good, man." Nas said with his teeth slightly gritted
"Kwal- It's fine Chris. We got it." I said interrupting him
I placed my hand on Nas' chest, trying to calm him down
"Thank you again, Chris."
"No problem, keep in touch." He said shutting the door to his office as Nas and I walked out the back of the building
"Yo, what the fuck was that about?" Nas grilled me as he slammed the trunk to his midnight blue Mercedes Benz A- Class and opened the passenger door for me to get in. I said nothing and waited for him to get in the car.
"You don't hear me fucking talking to you?"
"I don't understand why the fuck you're so angry. He was my boss for the last three years and I made that club the most money it's probably ever seen in those years. Clearly he wasn't going to be happy with me leaving." I looked under my nails
"Was you fucking him?"
"Fuck no, and if you gon be on this insecure bullshit let me out and let me go."
"Ite man, watch yo tone. I'm chill." He said putting his right hand to rest on my left thigh.
Over these last two weeks, Nas and I had grown closer and he had become very possessive over me and Joenah too, it was nice to have a protector but sometimes he takes it too far.
"When we getting Jojo back? I miss little man." Nas said looking straight at the road
"In about a week maybe, my Aunt Kelsi missed him and wanted to keep him for a bit since he's on summer break."
"Oh, alright." He turned up the radio that was connected to his phone and allowed "Neighborhood Hero" by Lil Durk fill the car.
"Hungry?" He asked
"When am I not?" I laughed
"Yeah, not sure why I asked. How you stay so skinny when all you do is be a fat ass?" He chuckled
"Shut up, I want Waffle House." I laughed mushing him on the side of his head
Twenty minutes later Nasir and I were pulling up at The Waffle House a few blocks away from Lenox Square Mall.
"What are you getting?" I asked him staring hard at the menu
"All Star Breakfast with scrambled eggs, cheese grits & bacon." He asked sitting his menu down
"Ew, grits. Nasty." I told him
"Girl boo. Grits is good." He said licking his lips
"Nasty as fuck. I'd rather get shot in both my kneecaps and crawl to the hospital than eat grits." I said
