• SEBASTIAN VETTEL •
Sunday was a nightmare. It was hard to think back about that day when everyone in the team was celebrating apart from one guy. The one guy you wanted to see celebrate. Sebastian looked broken after his race in Monza. The race he wanted to win. It broke your heart to see him like that. He tried to hide it in front of everyone but you could just see the hurt in his eyes. The scariest part was that it didn't go away. It didn't go away when you both left the track to leave Italy immediately, it didn't go away when you got home in Switzerland and it didn't go away the next morning. You knew talking about it this time wouldn't help. He was drowning himself in his own thoughts. But you knew how to bring back his beautiful smile that always made you fall right back in love with him. You had to call some people up to make it happen, but when Monday had ended and Tuesday had started you were leading Sebastian towards the car. "Why don't you let me drive? I always drive," Sebastian sighed as you stepped into the driver's seat meanwhile he was sitting in the passenger's seat. You grinned at him while you took something out of your bag. "Because I need you to put one these," You said as you showed him a blindfold. Sebastian raised his eyebrows to you but surprisingly took it out of your hand. "Why?" he asked suspiciously. You started to smile as you put your bag away. "You will see. Now put it on," You took the blindfold back and helped him get it on so that he wouldn't see where they were going. You couldn't help but feel nervous. What if he wasn't going to like it? He was a little bit in a better mood, but that was mostly because they avoided the conversation about the race. You shook the negative thoughts away and started the engine.
It was only a short drive to the place they were going, but Seb had complained the whole ride that not seeing anything was annoying to him. You couldn't stop yourself from rolling your eyes and poking him in his side. You helped Sebastian get out of the car and when he curled his fingers around yours you pulled him with you towards the entrance of the outside racing kart circuit. You could already see the group that you had invited waiting for Seb and you to arrive. There was Britta, there was Antti, there were some of his closes friends and you even persuade Kimi to come. Although you had thought Kimi was going to be a pain in the ass to persuade, he actually agreed before you even had asked the question to him. "Hey! I almost fell," you heard Seb complain as he almost fell over his own feet. You couldn't help but laugh at him as you put your other hand on his stomach, pretending like that would help him not fall again. You signed to the group to be quiet before you let Seb stop in front of them. You let go of his hand and stood in front of him. The nervous were travelling from your stomach now to your throat. "Are you ready?" You asked nervous. "Where are you?" Sebastian asked as he was moving around with his hands before placing one hand on your face. "Oh, here you are. Okay, I'm ready." You saw the corners of his mouth curl up, making butterflies fly all over inside your stomach. You gave a short look behind you before looking back at the man you married and you slowly pulled the blindfold off of his eyes. It took Sebastian a few moments to get used to the sharp sunlight coming into his eyes before his eyes looked up at the group behind you. He had a surprised but confused look on his face before his eyes met yours again. "Wha-..." Seb started to laugh. "What are we doing here?" "We are gonna race, for fun." You smiled nervously. "Like it supposed to be," You watched as his eyes went back to the group again. His face started to light up as he pointed to someone behind her. "Kimi?!" he laughed. You looked behind as Kimi walked over to you and Seb. "What is he doing here?" Seb asked you right before Kimi put an arm around you. You looked up at Kimi and grinned. "Well he heard about my little plan and he was so eager to come, so I let him." you joked, making Kimi give you a little push as he shook his head. "You wish," he mumbled towards you before giving Seb a man hug. "I'm only here to beat you all,"
Beating you he might've done, but as the whole group went racing you could already tell that Kimi was holding back around the last few laps of the race. You had a bit of experience with karting and you were pretty good, but that statement was nothing between two world champions who at this point both seemed to hold back. Seb and you both drove over the finish line at the same time and as you looked over at Sebastian you saw him giving you a thumbs up. When the whole group parked their racing kart and got together again there were some discussions about who actually won. "I think Y/N went first over the line," Sebastian said as he pulled you closer to you. "No, you tried to let me win." You said back with raised eyebrows. You arranged this day for Seb, so you wanted Seb on the highest stair on the small little podium. "Nah, I'm for sure second," Seb laughed. "Well, me too." You said back. You both looked back at Kimi who just stood around with his sunglasses, not being bothered to get involved in this discussion. "Kimi won," you both said at the same time when you looked at each other. You both started to laugh and as the little ceremony began the third place went to Antti, meanwhile the second place was shared between you and Seb. Sebastian told you to get on his back and while you first started to protest, you eventually got on his back while Kimi was announced as the winner. We all watched how Kimi walked on the highest step with a smug smile and his sunglasses on. Sebastian looked up at you and you could see him smile. "Thanks for today babe. I really needed this."
