Jughead-
Saturday's were always the best, Betty and I always had sleepovers, even though are parents wanted to rip each others heads off. Betty basically lives at my house ever since her dad started drinking he got very abusive, and started hurting Betty and Alice, my mom was the same way when she left, I know it's Betty's dad but I'm hoping he'll just leave, I'm tired of Betty and Alice in so much pain.
"Jugieeee." Betty said hugging me.
"Yes."
"I got the job!" She squealed.
"Which one?" I joked, she hit me on the arm playfully and said "The one at pop's."
"Oh, goodie." I said sarcastically, I know I don't sound happy, but I know how much this means to her, so as long as she's happy I'm happy.
"He said we are his most paying customer, therefore he couldn't say no." She said.
"Are we still hanging out tonight?" I asked.
"Yep, I'll be here at 2:00."
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"Archie's having car problems." She smiled and slipped away.
"Why didn't he ask me?" I asked, she was so far off that she couldn't hear me. I was still in my pajamas so I decided to put on some real clothes. When I headed for the door a beer bottle rolled across the floor, my dad has also been drinking lately, but he isn't as addicted as Mr. Cooper is. I picked up the green bottle up about to throw it away, but then I noticed the label on the bottle, it read "Wyte Wyrm" on it, the bar my dad goes to every night to promote his gang. Sometimes I wish I was a part of his gang, because to be honest my dad and I haven't done anything together since I was four, and I honestly miss home being home. This was my chance, if I wanted this to be good between me and my dad I had to get it myself. I walked out of the house with the bottle in my hand giving me directions to the bar. When I arrived there the fumes of beer and cigarettes slapped me in the face like my mom did the night she left. I heard a familiar voice in the speakers.
"In unity there is strength." He said. I looked up at the stage to see my dad in a leather jacket and jeans. I accidentally made eye contact with him and he walked off the stage coming towards me.
"Boy what are you doing here?" He asked.
"I wanted to join the serpents." I told him.
"Does Betty know about this?" He asked.
"No, and don't tell her, she was really excited today." I said.
"I want to know why you want to join."
"Well, I want protection and I want a family." I said.
"You have me jug."
"A full family." He stayed silent "this is the thing that is missing in my life." I said.
"A gang? A gang is what's missing in your life? This gang ruined my life, and because of it, I've been in jail and back, trying to provide for you and your sister, I do not want this life for you, but if this is what you want, then you're in." He sighed.
"Wait that's it, no initiation, nothing."
"Jughead, you're a serpent by blood." He said walking away. I walked out of the bar feeling really good. Betty can't find out, she will be so mad if she does, and I'm not gonna let a gang ruin our friendship.
