"nah, healy's a crazy ass old man. he don't know what he talkin' about." cindy said to me. i told them what had happened, cindy was laughing because of course she witnessed the whole thing. "there's no way in hell that you and that white girl are alike... well you know.. apart from the skin color. but you like more paler than her anyway."

i rolled my eyes. "thanks, cindy. you always know how to cheer a girl up."

"i don't know why you're so down about it." lorna said.

"basically for, vause, it means competition." nicky said.

"how exactly is she competition!?" cindy questioned.

"she could steal you guys away from me, and i'll end up just like that." i said pointing at her reading at a table all by herself with a apple in her hand.

"you do that shit anyway, just not alone." nicky grinned.

i stared at my almost finished book. "exactly. i'll be alone if she steals you guys away from me." i whined.

then jordon came out of nowhere. "hey, baby." he said as he kissed my cheek. cindy gagged.

"spare me." she muttered.

i hid my disgust as he kissed me. i scooted down so he could sit right next to me.

"your girlfriends paranoid." nicky said to jordon.

"of?" he questioned.

"she thinks that new chick over there is gonna steal us away from her and she'll be alone in her position." cindy said.

"don't you do that anyway?" he said looking at the girl.

"yeah, but i'll be doing it alone." i said again, but this time pouting. jordon laughed. "cheer up, there is nothing to be afraid of." he then kissed my lips before biting into his dominos pizza.

i rolled my eyes at him. once i looked up i saw nicky stared at me deeply with a questionable gaze. "can i have my face back?" i said to nicky.

she looked away and continue eating her salad without looking up. i felt guilt come across me as i was about to apologize but i quickly ignored it and grabbed my book to read.
