SinB hastily walked towards the cafe near her company. She worked until late and barely got any sleep, no coffee would be the death of her.
As she came closer to the cafe she already smelled the aroma of fresh brewed coffee, a fragrance that she already had become familiar with since a while ago.
The cafe was owned by two of her friends, Umji and Yuju. SinB had met them at the school she went to before going to the Sasada fashion school, but as she transferred they lost contact. When they later met again at this cafe they immediately picked their friendship right up, the click they had before was still there, making it seem like the fact that they didn't see each other for more than five years didn't exist.
Through several coffees and hot chocolate milk meetings at the cafe during their short breaks they soon became updated on each other, learning that SinB followed her dream to become a fashion designer and was the CEO of a popular brand, Guardian Angel, and that Umji and Yuju have been going out now for a few years, how they decided to build this cafe together,..
Except for the fact that this cafe was owned by her friends, it was SinB's favorite cafe due to a lot of other things. The first time she noticed the existence of this place was when she was running late, and had to take another route to go to the company to get there faster. The route ended up being way shorter, making her wonder why she never took this one before, but she also started taking this route more ever since she saw that little cafe on the corner of the street while passing by.
SinB would usually take her car to the company, but she'd go by foot a lot more afterwards so she could make a quick stop there before starting another day of work.
The cafe had a round dark green sign placed above the large windows, finished with a golden border, making the golden letters that formed the word "Morning Dew Cafe & Coffeehouse" look extra elegant, which fits perfectly with the rest of the cafe. The place was only open in the morning, and closed as soon as the clock striked twelve, explaining where the name comes from.
As soon as you entered the cafe you were welcomed by a sight of thousands of old books placed on multiple wooden shelves against the walls, giving the cafe a vellichor** atmosphere. The shelves looked in fact so full that it seemed like they could break down any minute, books being placed horizontally on top of the standing books just to make them fit somewhere, not leaving a single spot empty.
The books were free for every customer to read, giving them the choice to sit in the brown leather sofas where little round tables stood with lamps on them that projected a nice warm color around them, or at the black metal chairs that each round table had, with flowers on top of them. SinB had never seen the same flower standing on a table for more than one day. It changed to another type of flower every day, making her wonder what flower it would be tomorrow and the day after that.
There wasn't much need of extra light since the cafe was only open in the morning, giving enough sunlight for the whole place to be illuminated due to the large windows, but the light bulbs hanging from the ceiling with variating lengths of chords made the place give off a cozy and inviting ambiance.
They sold several kinds of pastries that all looked delicious, and coffee with the largest collection of coffee beans she's ever seen, ranging from 20 euros to 300 euros per bag.
The coffee always gave SinB enough strength to make it through another day of hard work, and she especially needed it today since there was an important meeting coming up, one that could make millions. SinB didn't really care about money, she just wanted to create clothing, that's why she should be lucky that Eunha was in care of the money, or they would've went bankrupt a long time ago seeing as SinB would just give everything away for free. Which is admirable, but unmanageable.
She walked towards the counter where Yuju was happily singing a song while dancing around before she greeted SinB.
"The usual?" She nods, making Yuju smile, twirl around and start making her coffee.
Yuju has a special way of saying and doing things, making it look like she's in a musical.
Maybe she really thinks she's in one.
While waiting for her coffee, SinB let her eyes slowly wander around the place, looking at the interior of the cafe that she loved so much for the nth time, stopping at the sight of someone she's never seen here before. She usually knew pretty much everyone that came here, as there were a lot of regular customers. But this time there was suddenly a new face.
A girl with blonde wavy hair, falling over her shoulders as she slowly takes a sip out of her cup while reading one of the thousands of books available.
SinB was mesmerized by the girl that seems to deliver every action in such an elegant way. She was wearing a cute frilly white dress that stopped right above her knees, perfectly complementing her white porcelain skin and her pale blonde hair.
She looks like an angel, SinB thought, staring at the beautiful sight in front of her, starstruck by her beauty and elegance as she just sits there drinking her coffee at a round table near the window, the sun making her blonde hair look like it's made out of golden thread, not noticing that her coffee has been placed on the counter in front of her a while ago.
"You interested in her?" A soft voice suddenly says, making SinB's head snap at Umji.
"What? No I was just-"
"Staring at her. Her name's Yerin, she's a regular here." A regular? How come I never noticed her before? SinB thought, scolding herself for never noticing her before even though she must have been there pretty much everytime SinB came. She never really talked to any of the other customes, mainly just to Umji and Yuju.
"Yerin.." Such a pretty name. "Is she a model?" SinB suddenly asked before even thinking how dumb that sounds. Not every person with a pretty face is a model, although she'd be perfect for it.
Umji snickers. "In fact, she is. She apparently hasn't been receiving any jobs lately though, so she's been visiting here more often." She says. "SinB, it might be better if you stop staring at her though, at this rate I think you're going to burn holes into the back of her head."
SinB quickly looked away, finally noticing her coffee that's been standing there for some time. She suddenly remembered about the meeting that almost started, making her quickly put the money down on the counter and then head out while saying goodbye to Umji and Yuju, taking one quick glance at Yerin before leaving.
It almost looked to SinB like their eyes locked, even for just a second.
Must have been my imagination.
