The wind tearing through the trees made the voices of two figures nearly inaudible. It carried their voices away almost as soon as the sound escaped their mouths the location and time of their meeting was planned to ensured this. The woods have ears, the earth has eyes, and all are loyal only to themselves. No secrets are secrets.

"Are you certain she is the one you found?"

"Yes. I have no doubt."

"Are her abilities intact?"

"I believe so."

"You believe?"

"I think they aren't therefore I believe they are."

"You weren't chosen for this task to guess. People - real, dangerous people  are counting on us. You know what will happen if you fail. If you fail, I fail. We will be ruined. Then this whole movement will fall apart."

"I know."

"Our future depends on this."

"I know." and will this statement the second figure shifted out of sight, leaving the first to stand alone in the night.

He truly grasped the significance of his task, he will find her again and recover her. He knew he must do so before her power controlled her and she wanted something more than escape. If she desired revenge it surely would be the only thing that could make the reality of their world more dismal. A small part of him wondered if in fact he was too late. If these desires had already consumed her. If the remaining world would be allowed by her to exist tomorrow or the next day.

Yet still he felt a pull to her, an unexplainable force that compelled him to connect. He didn't - couldn't understand the source of this fixation and didn't desire to. People in his time do not have the luxury of privacy.

With a mighty force he removed all these thoughts from his head. Thoughts aren't secure. No secrets are secrets.
