Envy looked at himself in the mirror one last time before heading down to meet his sister at the front door. She smiled softly at him before locking the door as they headed out to go see their M.I.A. brother. Stuffing his hands in his pocket, Envy walked next to Lust towards the park that they always played at as kids. Envy immediately began scanning the area for that bastard he had to call a brother. Then there he was.

A tall, muscular man sat at one of the benches in the shade, next to the path. He wore a fashionable outfit with his usual pair of shades as he waited for Lust and Envy to arrive. Every muscle seemed to tense up in Envy at the sight of his older brother. Taking notice, Lust attempted to comfort him in a subtle way as they approached. Envy suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"I can't do this, Lust." Envy stood frozen in place.

"He's not going to hurt you, Envy. It'll be a lot better than spending all day at home." Lust sounded with a soothing look upon her face. "Would you rather be babysitting Wrath at home?" Envy shook his head, mortified by the thought of babysitting that little demon. "Good. Then let's go say hi." She took hold of his hand and pulled him over to Greed.

At the sight of his siblings, Greed coyly smiled and took off his shades. He warmly greeted them as well as including a small jab at Envy's outfit. Envy sharply glared at him to which Lust quickly shifted the subject.

"It's good to see you, Envy. I mean it. Can't believe you continue to stay with the old man though." Greed commented.

"Yeah, well, it's not like I have a choice anyway." Envy replied. "I can't move out."

Greed smirked. "I bet you'll still stay with him even when you can move out. You're just that dependent."

"Greed, please. Let's just move on." Intervened Lust.

Laughing heartily, Greed responded saying, "I'm just messing with the little palm tree." He ruffled Envy's hair. "Now then, what is it we'll be doing today?"

Lust reached into her bag and pulled out three tickets, "I thought we could go see that new scary movie together then get something to eat afterwards."

"Woah! Really?!" Envy's eyes beamed. "You really got us tickets to 'Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark?!' I've been wanting to see it since I first saw the trailer!"

"I'm down for that. I love a good scary movie." Greed commented. "I have just the place to go to after the movie too."

Lust smiled and put the tickets back into her purse. "Perfect, then that's what we'll do." She walked off, heading over to Greed's car. A cool red Jeep with various stickers on the back of it. Greed followed and hopped in the front with Envy climbing into the back. Envy took a glance at his older brother, thinking for a moment. Maybe he really had changed.

...

Envy sat on his bed, thinking over the events of the evening. A small smile played upon his lips at the memories of dinner with Greed and Lust. Sudden, sadder memories began to play in his mind. Memories of the way Greed always made fun of him, always made him feel inferior for everything he did. It felt so unforgivable at the time and enraged him even now. Having once sworn never to forgive Greed for the shit he did, Envy felt confused since he had basically done just that!

In the car ride after the movie and on the way over to dinner, Lust had sat quietly as Greed talked to Envy, truly talked to him for once. No insults, no petty jabs, no mockery, just pure, real talk. Apologies for what he did, an offer to even live with him! That. That single sentence strewn together and thrown from Greed's lips into the atmosphere. It seemed like it could be a prank, but the serious tone and flow of the conversation as well as how quiet Lust had been and how unopposed to the idea she had been surprised him.

"I've got a place not too far from your school." Greed had said. "If you ever wanna get away, I can give you the address."

Why? Why would this asshole be giving him this offer after years of hellish torture? Envy sighed and closed his eyes as he turned over in his bed. The music helped him drift off to sleep with as his mind was filled with bustling thoughts of everything from the day. And what a day it had been.

"Doctor says that I'm so lonely

A mistake on the painting of my family

But that big smudge is what I love

Give me a Grenade and I'll tape it to my face."
