Heartbreak and curses

The old wish Evil Queen was headed towards Daniel's Castle, guided by the magic mirror Morgane had given her and on her other hand a rose, a rose that had grown in her cell in the dungeon for all those years, on her way to the castle she saw the Charmings with a little boy but she didn't care, she was getting her happy ending and they weren't going to stop her this time, she didn't have her magic she didn't care either, she wouldn't need it, she never really wanted it, nothing could ruin that day the day she would finally be happy, free of her mother, of her evil past, when she would finally have the life she wanted.

She was there a few meters away from the front door, there was a little rose garden in front of the castle just like the little present she had for him, what a nice coincidence. It was a nice place, this other version of herself must really appreciate Daniel for giving him this place.

New York

Chad and Isabelle were in the New York public library reports of this mysterious missing people she had been talking about entered some weird room in the library. The room was full of fairytales and other stories, some known and some unknown.

They found a Cinderella book in which Isabelle found an interesting name HENRY MILLS he appeared to be the prince in the story.

"How can this be one of my missing people is a character in a storybook!!" Isabelle said while Chad was taking a look at a Wizard of Oz book, there was an illustration of the Wicked Witch, something in it made him want to smile for some reason, did he have a crush on the Wicked Witch of the West?

"we should go back to the hotel there is nothing here" Chad said.

" no, we have to find something else, there is always something else, a missing piece."

Storybrooke, Daniel's Castle

Daniel was getting used to his new home, a huge castle, she really cared about him after all these years, but he wasn't sure he did, after half a decade dead and living a different kind of life if that made sense, he wasn't sure if he should have come back and Regina had also taken a different path she became the queen he always knew she could be, at the cost of a dark and complicated life.

But him, he wasn't king material, he wasn't good enough for Regina, or for anyone, he had been a fool to think they could run away together an build a kingdom for themselves, he really just like her because she was a princess, because she was his ticket to a better life. His doorbell rang, he opened up. It was Regina just a lot older with a dark cloak.

Old Regina looked at Daniel he was just like she remembered him, but in his eyes there was a strange look, not of happiness or love but of fear or confusion, maybe it was wrong of her to show up like this and looking so much older, maybe Morgane was right and it wasn't the time, but she had to try, she had to do it.

"Daniel it's me Regina, just from another realm, a realm where I never managed to curse anyone, a realm where I had been imprisoned for a long time with no magic, but when I found out you were alive here, I had to come and see you Daniel, I even brought you a gift" Regina said taking out her rose

"this rose grew up on my cell next to me, it always made me think of you Daniel" she added.

"hello Regina I suppose, I appreciate your gift but, I can't accept it, because I am not your Daniel anymore even if I look like it, I thought I loved you because you were a princess a nice, kind princess to someone like me, but I think I never really loved you and you are not my Regina you are not that kind girl I met so many years ago, you take me as the representation of the love in your heart when I am not it" Daniel said he started rather timid but then he exploded, he thought telling the truth to another version of Regina would feel relieving but when the old woman started crying he understood that maybe he said too much, getting used to the land of the living wasn't easy, in the realm of remembrance it was easy telling the truth to others but in the real world emotions had a larger weight.

Old Regina couldn't contain her tears, for years her heart had been devoted to him even when she was evil she did it for him to make sure the person responsible for his dead payed, but now she knew her mother was right, love was weakness, no matter if everyone else in the world saw it otherwise. The spark she had inside her heart since the moment she saw Daniel on that mirror had turned into a dark flame of anger and vengance running through her heart, her head, her veins it was changing her, the pain of her crumbling bones, of her old legs it was disappearing. It was magic, her magic, her magic, it had never left, it just needed the right reason to return.

Daniel looked at Regina as her tears dried, as her old crumple body got back to that of the young girl he once knew her white hair transformed into long black hair on her shoulders and her long cloak turned into an striking black dress while she screamed not of pain but in anger, he understood he was about to meet the woman Regina had turned into when he died, the powerful witch many feared back in the realm of remembrance, he was about to meet The Evil Queen.

Wish Regina opened her eyes and looked at herself in the magic mirror she carried, she was back, The Evil Queen was back. She looked even darker, prettier and more evil than she ever did in her past days as the Evil Queen. She laughed evily as she looked at her other hand with the rose she had offered to Daniel and she thought of a very interesting idea.

"You think you know anything about love Daniel? The only person you ever loved or say to have loved is me and you used it to trick me, to think love would save me from my mother but it never did. You're a monster Daniel you destroyed the last bit of joy I had in my life because you couldn't really love me" The Evil Queen shouted.

"well then you will live alone in this beautiful castle, that other version of me got for you, trapped as the monster you are, slowly Daniel will die and the monster will take over, this rose the last bit of the love I had for you will show you how much time your humanity has left to live sealed inside the castle"

Her eyes turned red as a dark red smoke surrounded the castle and Daniel himself once beautiful castle looked now old and covered in plants and Daniel was now a Beast.

"One last gift my dear Daniel, my magic mirror your only door into the outside world" The Evil Queen said as she made the mirror appear in his hand.

Outside somewhere in Storybrooke's forests

"You knew this was going to happen didn't you Morgane, that is why you showed me the mirror when I asked you how was I going to get my magic back." the Evil Queen asked.

"Yes but no, I knew thanks to a conversation I over heard between him and the Good Queen that he didn't love her anymore, so how would he love you? but it was the actual nature of it and the effect it had on you what I didn't see coming, I thought he would only break your heart and get your darkness back on, but I didn't expect you getting your powers and looks back right then and there. I had other ideas on how to get those things. You are far more powerful that I thought Regina.". Morgane answered her.

"Don't call me that anymore, Regina has died, I am the Evil Queen" The Evil Queen answered smiling.
