He was only twelve and a half but the fate that awaited him thought he could make it out alive - maybe.

He was playing football with his mates in school when the fire alarm began to boom in his ears and a supernatural flame rose up above the school. Little did he know this but the same thing happened to the rest of the world as well.

All the young boy could think of was to run and run and never stop until the fire ceased. The red impossibleness was rapidly gaining speed and seconds later it had caught up with the child. Suddenly, the world around him turned crimson with a dark shade of gold.

He sank to his knees as the intense heat burned his skin to crisp. He tried to scream in agony but could not as the flame had dried his burning throat. Sadly, the child knew that this was the moment his life was to end.

He thought about his smiling parents and caring sister. He thought about his loyal friends and cute pets. Slumping to the ground, he closed his eyes. A single tear rolled down his cheek but the fire made it evaporate into thin air. This was it. This was death - or was it?
