A look of shock overcome Scotia's face but was instantly replaced with anger. "Don't you dare touch me you disgusting piece of filth!" Scotia aimed a punch at Skylar's face but before it could connect, Skylar neatly ducked underneath it.
This was the moment when Luke had had enough so he decided to intervene. "We can't fight amongst ourselves. We should be working together, against the Kaiju."
"No need for you to get involved, idiot," spat Scotia. She whipped out a knife and pointed it towards where Skylar was standing. Whilst all this was happening, the other group just sat there, imagining how a survivor that was chosen could be so ignorant and bossy.  Anyway why of all people would Scotia be chosen? Why were any of them chosen?
Before Scotia was able to do anything, a hand grabbed her arm and twisted it behind her, forcing her to drop the pointed knife she held. The person who had disarmed Scotia, picked up the knife. It was Faith. All the time she was silently sitting there, the cogs in her brain whirring, thinking, wondering about  how to stop Scotia. Eddie looked down at Scotia lying on her front on the floor. Ha. She was no longer the boss, this time it would be Faith instead. Skylar broke the silence, "we should get moving. Jack, we can talk about any questions you want answered on the way but we should move while it is dark. The day will be too hot."
For the first time since he had introduced himself, Ace spoke, "I will keep an eye on Scotia and Faith can be near in case I get distracted."
Faith and Skylar nodded in agreement to this. As the bunch of people left the house, Eddie wandered over to where Darnell and Hunter were -like always- joking around. "Can you teach me how to use a weapon?" asked Eddie.
For a moment the pair of jesters paused and stared at Eddie but then burst out laughing. "You can't do much if you haven't even got a weapon," giggled Hunter, thinking that Eddie was stupid.
"Well then can I borrow yours?"
"No."
"Do have a spare I can use?"
"No."
"Do you have anything?"
"No."
Eddie just sighed in annoyance and ambled away. He headed in the direction of Faith, but the huge hulking body of Ace stood in front of him. "If you couldn't already tell, I'm the best fighter here - and everybody knows it. I doubt you can fight but if you can then keep your skills to yourself, otherwise you might find yourself in a pool of your own blood." Ace said, then to Eddie's relief he moved out of the way. Ace was intimating for sure but how good was he really at fighting? Eddie went over to Faith but when he was next to her he didn't know what to say. In the quietest voice, Faith said, "Hi."
"Um... Hello," replied Eddie. He paused then said, "You did really well disarming Scotia back there."
"Thanks." She kept her eyes on the floor and her shoulders were slumped.
Eddie had no idea what to say to her anymore so went back into the centre of the group. He looked over at Ophelia. She was crying and her cheeks were blotchy. Her hair hung down over her face like a veil. 'It must be because of Ella's death,' he thought.
Next, he looked to where Luke was walking at the back. His beady eyes were darting around, never missing a single thing. He kept looking over his shoulder in case any of the Kaiju decided to come back for them. Eddie headed over to him and was instantly noticed. "What else is there to know about the Kaiju?" asked Eddie.
"I know some more things but not very much. You should go ask Skylar. She has the most information as well as the most control over us," Luke answered, not looking at Eddie but checking that things were safe.
"Okay," said Eddie and he went over to his place in the centre. At the very front of the group was Jack (his leader) and Skylar (the other leader). Also Harper was there. Probably because she was new and didn't really feel like she was in a group.

Scotia was watching Eddie. Before this happened he would be the type of boy that she would go out with. But not anymore - especially not after what she had just done. Eddie had spoken to Hunter and Darnell first. Ugh. She didn't like them. It made her jealous because she didn't have a best friend like that here. Then he went over to Ace who threatened him with being a fighter. The funniest thing she had ever hear because it didn't look like Eddie could fight at all. After that he walked to the weirdo Faith. Scotia didn't like her either. She was the kind of person that Scotia would bully before this. Not forgetting the fact that Faith was the one to disarm her. Now Eddie was going over to where Jack, Harper and Skylar were talking. She couldn't hear what they were saying from this far away so she got closer to them, hoping that Ace wouldn't notice.
"-realised that they only come out at night which is very unfortunate as we can only travel at night."
"Is there anything else that we might need to know?" she heard Jack ask.
"They can get into your mind. One of our people's mind got possessed so we were unable to save her," Skylar told them. Ah yes. Someone who she had actually liked was the one who had got possesed, Ellie.
"Is there something we can do to stop them from getting in our heads?" said Harper, a worrying look on her face.
"Well we just try to not think bad thoughts around them. And try not to fear them too much because she was saying how scared she was when they possessed-"
"Hey! You stay near me!" shouted Ace. He pulled her back away from where she was able to hear the other's conversation. Scotia had all her weapons taken from her and if she tried to harm anyone Ace would pin her down. She scowled at Ace, hating him.

Hunter was mucking about as usual with Darnell. If you looked at him you wouldn't be able to tell that something was on his mind. Telling jokes wouldn't make him forget it. Eventually, he decided to tell Darnell but nobody else. After all, he was his best friend.
"Darnell?" he said.
"Yeah?"
"Well I don't really know how to say this but last night I had a dream. And the kaiju were in it even though we had never seen one."
Darnell just stared at his friend, contemplating whether or not this was all just a joke."Is this just a joke?"
The simple answer he received was no. Darnell was speechless. It was definitely real ; anybody could tell if they just took a look at Hunter's serious expression.
Hunter broke the awkward silence, "I don't remember what happened but the Kaiju were in it."
There. He had finally got it off his chest.
Before Darnell could reply to this, something fell from the sky and splatter onto the road in front of the group. Everyone cautiously went forwards to see what it was then instantly wished they hadn't. It was a blood-coated leg with Ella's shoe on the foot. The little amount of food that Eddie had eaten was daring him to throw up. The way chunks of flesh was missing and the way that the pearl white bone was noticeable made Eddie give in. He turned away and it all came up. Scotia was doing likewise. Ophelia just stood there, her face pale white and her hand clamped over her mouth. Streaks of tears ran down her cheeks. Ace kept his cool and didn't look like he was fazed by the Ella's leg. Skylar and Jack and Harper crept closer to the limb, wary in case it was some sort of trap. "Wait," Skylar spoke, "There's note attached to it."
