Piper stood above the train, a wrench in her hands and the wind in her hair. They had stopped at the capital, Naveen, for repairs, and  Piper was in charge of the project. Now a 17-year-old teenager, she was stunning; her curves were ones to be jealous over, her hair sleek, and her eyes bright. Gee had asked her to be his girlfriend three and a half years ago, and the two had been dating ever since.

The dark-haired-green-eyed boy was walking her way now, actually. "Piper! How's it going?" Gee looked like what you'd expect of a seventeen-year-old kid on the 401's staff, grease stains, black marks, overalls, and bare feet. He had gotten more handsome over the past four years as well. His jawline was more pronounced, and his eyes sharper. His hair was cut an inch and a half long, still a dark color.

"Hey, Gee. It's going alright. I need to adjust this vent so it'll work better against those raiders on our trip back." Piper said. She twisted a bolt a little tighter, then commanded the vents to open and close experimentally. Once satisfied, she turned to face her boyfriend with a smile. "Mkay, you look like you need to talk to me about something. What is it?"

"You got me," Gee raised his hands in mock surrender. "I needed help with the control panels upfront; the stuff is getting all wonky and isn't operating correctly. Even with you close by, it still seems to be having problems."

He wasn't telling her something. He seemed nervous about whatever it was and kept fidgeting; Piper could tell. She had gotten quite good at reading people over the past few years, as she was working for a train that had a lot of different people and species, and so reading people had become somewhat of a priority. She narrowed her eyes at him slightly, and he seemed to see this and began sweating buckets. "Okay, I'll check up on it."

She let a grin leave her lips at how uncomfortable Gee had gotten and decided to snap him out of it. Walking straight towards him, she got on her tiptoes and kissed him smack dab on the lips. He tensed for a second before melting into it, becoming quite passionate. He always did kiss hard, seeing as he sometimes forgot his own strength.

"Let's get going. Lead the way, my wing-man." She pulled away from the kiss, a smirk on her lips as Gee turned bright red. Piper had created the nickname a few years ago and happily used it all the time. She felt proud of her pun and intended to use it to its fullest.

Still beet red, the poor chamelin lead the way to the engine, pulling her inside quickly. He gestured to a few handles and levers and said, "They don't seem to stop humming, and when you pull them, they stall before starting up."

Eyebrows knit in confusion and curiosity, Piper stepped forward. After inspecting the different levers for a few seconds, she moved onto the handles on the train's right side. Stepping back, she turned to Gee. "It seems to be a little mishap with the gears and the engine working together, not that big of a deal; I'll work it out in about a half-hour." She gestured for the boy to get out of the car. "I'll need space, though; bring me food."

And so, Piper got to work on the gears of the levers, tightening a few, and having her magic fix the rest to fit properly. Twenty minutes later, Gee came back with fruits and a sandwich from the dining car. She asked him to set the food down on the floor by the steps while she finished up, and he obliged.

A few minutes later, Piper exclaimed, "Done!" To which Gee jumped in surprise and frowned slightly.

"Must you be so loud?" The frown turned into a smirk as Piper pouted.

"I just fixed the levers and controls, and I don't even get a thank you from my boyfriend? Rude." She stood up, crossing her arms over her chest as she glared at Gee. After a full minute of her intense staring, he said thank you, and she sighed. "Welp, I guess this food'll make up for the amount of time it took you to thank me." Piper gulped down a banana in a few bites after peeling it; her synergist work took a lot of energy.
