"This land is cursed..." The twin brothers and their hunting party slowly moved through the slowly narrowing pass, forming a small line as they tracked their prey: A large creature made of deadly bone-blades and gnashing, gnarled teeth. "Quiet... This beast can hear a mere breath in a howling storm." Ulthane and his brother Yuugo were Ursine, more commonly known as Bearmen to the humans who inhabited the tundra and small forrest next to the Bearman tribes in the Frozen Wastes of Calderis.
The Bearmen found their prey, but it was far too late. The large hulking monstrosity had teeth the size of a man's arm and was dripping acid mixed with it's fresh kill's blood from it's twisted maw. All four of it's eyes quickly looked to the Ursine who stood nearby, frozen in fear in front of the entrance to the beast's lair. "No one... move... a muscle..." One of his hunting brothers let loose a mighty roar, rushing forward to anger the beast. "NO!" The large creature known as 'Grey Fang' stormed forward, his teeth and claws ripping through whatever stood in his way. Ulthane quickly jumped, tackling Yuugo out of the way as Grey Fang tore throught the rest of their hunting party.
Yuugo landed hard with Ulthane landing not too far away. Ulthane's axe landed beard first into the thick snow a few feet away, and Yuugo was unconcious from the tackle. Ulthane scrambled to grab his axe, slipping and sliding on the snow and ice until he finally grabbed the hilt of the ornate, heavily used axe. Ulthane stood and growled, his eyes glowing a dark emerald color as he stared at the beast with evil in his eyes. "You wish to end the line of Ulfsaar Shatter-Shield?! THEN HAVE AT ME!!!" Ulthane let loose a roar that shook the ground and rattled the trees around him. The snow fell slowly then as warrior and beast circled one another, both having dark intentions for the other should they succeed.
"I will cut off your head, and mount your skull on MY FATHER'S HUT!" Ulthane rushed forward, the large creature soon charging towards the Ursine. With a crack of thunder and a flash of light, a large meteor fell and struck between the two combatants, sending them back away from each other. Ulthane slowly regained conciousness, sitting up and rubbing his furred head in a daze. "What... What happened?" As he opened his eyes, his question was answered by a beautiful woman with flowing auburn hair and eyes that looked like crystal pools of light. Ulthane stared in awe, never having seen such a beautiful creature in all of his days.
"Would you speak, mighty warrior? or have I vexed you so?" The woman giggled at him, her voice like silk to his furry ears. He simply sat there, axe in hand as the woman stood in front of him. She was beautiful, but there was still danger. Grey Fang slowly rose up behind the woman, teeth dripping with acid and his lips quivering in anticipation of the meal to come. "BEHIND YOU!" Ulthane jumped forward, knocking the woman aside just as Grey Fang struck.
With the sickening sound of crunching bone and splattering blood, Grey Fang fell forward as blood dripped from his open maw. "Warrior!" The woman tried to move, but found her legs weakened. As the creatures skull started to move, the rest of it's body fell over with a loud crash. The woman stood motionless, eyes wide with surprise as Ulthane came around the creature's skull holding his blood-stained axe in one hand, covering his left side with the other. "The first time I see an Angel... and I almost lose my eyes."
