Fate

It was never meant to be,

You and me.

No matter what I did,

You always seemed to stray.

I was always too free,

You were always too safe.

I held it in,

You let it out.

I will never forget you,

But you will forget me.

Life is different,

Standing here on the cold ground.

I'm no longer sure what you meant to say,

When you said you cared.

I'm starting to think you pitied me,

You only wanted to help,

But it always hurts.

Your every word kills me.

Like a swift blow to the chest.

I ran out of time long ago.

When you left I considered leaving too,

But it was her.

She completed it.

I ran away because I felt you didn't care.

It would've been  nice to know you did.

So now I'm gone,

And you're alone.

Maybe we were supposed to be together,

But I just ruined it all,

Didn't I?
