My Dark Prince

Chapter 4

Once Loki got up again I ran over to him and started fighting him myself. For the most part, I dodged his attacks until one point of the fight. I noticed when I was fighting him, he would be just out of my reach. His illusion disappeared and the actual Loki hit me on the back of the head. I fell to my knees and he lifted me up and took me outside."Very soon the new world will be in order and I will be king of these petty humans. You will be under my rule Midnight. There's nothing that can stop that." Loki told me.

"Loki!" A voice boomed and Thor landed on the platform. "Turn off the Tesseract or I will destroy it." Thor threatened. "You can't. There is no stopping it. There is only the war." Loki stated. "So be it." Thor said. With that Loki threw me to where I was hanging on to the edge. Thor saw my struggle and yelled to me, "Midnight! Hang on!" "Don't worry, I wasn't planning on letting go!" I yelled back. I couldn't manage to pull myself up because every time I would, I would slip a little bit. So while the guys were fighting, I was stuck hanging on for my life. Awesome. (Sarcasm if you weren't aware.)

Although I was hanging off the edge,  I managed to pull myself up to where I could see everything. The chaos that these invaders were causing.. The destruction of all of the buildings.. It was almost over whelming for a moment. Eventually I got a good enough grip on a railing that I could pull myself back up. I had to get my wits back about me though. Thor grabbed Loki and made him face away from the building. "Look at this! Look around you! You think this madness will end in your rule?" Thor questioned Loki. "It's too late. It's too late to stop it." Loki said. "No. We can, together." Thor told his brother. Loki did something to Thor to make him wince in pain. "Sentiment." Loki says. Thor attacked Loki again and Loki jumped off onto a Chitauri hovercraft and flew away.

Afterwards Thor pulled out a dagger looking object out of his side and came over to check on me.  "I'm good. Just light headed for a moment. Thanks." I told him. "You are welcome. Now let us go see what we can do to assist." "Right. Can you give me a ride?" I asked him knowing he could fly. "Of course." He said. Thor grabbed onto me and took me where Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Captain America are. "Cover your ears." Thor told me and I obeyed. Thor was shooting lightning from Mjolnir. He dropped me and we helped them stall the Chitauri. "Here!" Barton handed me an extra bow that he carried and a pouch of extra arrows. "You have enough training to have your own. Think of it as a present." I started killing off some Chitauri smiled. "Thanks Barton! I love it! Nice to have you back!" "I could say the same to you Midnight."

"What's the story upstairs?" Cap asked Thor. "The power around the cube is impenetrable." Thor responded. "Thor's right, we have to deal with these guys." Stark flew by with some Chitauri on his tail and I shot at them hitting each one. "How do we do this guys?" Natasha questioned everybody."As a team." Captain America answered. "I have unfinushed business with Loki." Thor stated. "Yeah? Well get in line." The Hawkeye said. "Save it. Loki is keeping this fight focuses on us and that's we need. Without him, these things could run wild. We got Stark on top. He's going to need us to.." Captain was interrupted by a motorcycle engine. It was Dr. Banner!

Dr.Banner got off the motorcycle and we all approached him. "So, this all seems horrible." Banner stated. "I've seen worse." Natasha said. "Sorry." Banner apologized. "No, we could use a little worse." Natasha had accepted. "Stark, we got him." Cap told Tony. "Banner?" Tony asked. "Just like you said." "Tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you." As Tony said that, he rounded the corner. "I don't see how that's a party." Natasha commented. "Yeah, me either." I agreed. "Dr. Banner. Now might be a good time to get angry." Steve stated while the giant worm type thing with sharp teeth was approaching us. "That's my secret Captain, I'm always angry." The Hulk had come out of Banner and hit the mechanical thing on the nose. That stopped it from going any further and flipping it over. "Hold on." Stark launched an explosive on the beast and it exploded. Cap was protecting Natasha and I behind his shield. Thereafter it exploded, we all got together in a group watching from all angles. I heard the Hulk roar and the Chitauri make a screeching noise.

"Guys." Natasha pointed out the rest of the worm type things and Chitauri coming in the portal. "Call it Captain." Iron Man said. "What's the plan?" I joined in. "All right, listen up. Until we close that portal, our priority is containment. Barton, I want you on that roof. Eyes on everything . Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you get the perimeter. Anything that gets more than three blocks out, you either turn it back or turn it to ash." Captain said. "Give me a lift? Barton asked Tony. "Right." Iron Man sauntered over Barton, "Better clench up Legolas." then picked him up and flew off. "Thor, you got to try and bottleneck that portal. Slow them down. You got the lightning. Light the bastards up." Thor flew off as well and Rodger turned to Black Widow and I. "Girls stay with me, we stay here on the ground. We keep the fighting here. And Hulk," The Hulk turned to the Captain. "Smash." With that, the Hulk smiled and began to destroy the Chitauri army. Captain Rodgers, Natasha and I were all battling on the ground.

"Captain, none of this is going to mean a damn thing if we don't close that portal." Natasha stated. "Our biggest guns couldn't touch it." Steve pointed out. "Well, maybe it's not about guns." Black Widow said. "We gotta get back up to STARK towers." I said to Natasha. "Well, you going to need a ride." Captain America pointed out. "We have one," Natasha pulled me to the the other side of the bridge. "we just need a lift." I got what Black Widow was trying to point out. "You two sure about this?" I nodded. "Yeah, it's going to be fun." Natasha replied. Natasha was running first and I was close behind. She jumped on the hovercraft first and I grabbed onto her ankles. "Midnight, climb up me. and kill the first one." I did what she told me and assisted her in getting up. The she had control of the Chitauri that was driving.

More of them were shooting at us but Iron Man took care of them. Then someone else was shooting at us. I glanced back and told her it was Loki. "Oh, you." "She paused. "Hawkeye!" Natasha said. "Nat, what are you doing?" The Hawk questioned. "A little help?" Black Widow asked. "I got him."

Afterwards, Loki landed back on the balcony of the tower. I'm guessing the Hulk got him because I heard the roar and it wasn't far away. That, and I heard the window crash and something else being smashed. Anyways, where we were Erik must have gotten out of Loki's trance somehow. "The scepter." He said. "Doctor." Natasha looked at him. "Loki's scepter. The energy. The Tesseract can't fight, but you can't protect against yourself." "No, it's not your fault. You didn't know what you were doing." "Actually, I think I did. I built in a safety to cut their power source." Erik remembered. "Loki's scepter." "It might be able to close the portal. And I'm looking right at it. " 

I looked down. "I'll be right back." I said. I used one of my arrows that had a arrowhead with a grappling hook to attach itself onto the building. I slid down the rope and grabbed the scepter. Then I attached my new bow to the pouch and climbed up the rope, handed the scepter to the Widow, and jumped over the rail so I could be with Natasha and Doctor Selvig. "Right at the crown!" Erik informed her. She stuck the scepter in the barrier. "I can close it. Can anyone copy? I can shut the portal down."

"Do it!" Steve said. "No wait." Stark objected. "Stark, these things are still coming." "I got a nuke coming in. It's gonna blow in less than a minute. And I know just where to put it." Stark let everyone know. "A nuke? Really?" I couldn't believe they sent a nuke. It didn't sound like a move Fury would make, so it must have been the counsel he was telling me about before all of this happened. "Stark, you know that's a one-way trip." Tony must have known that already because he was quiet. A few minutes later, there we saw Iron Man carrying the nuke up to the portal on the side of his tower. He flew in the portal and we waited anxiously for him to come out. Each second passed like a minute. When he didn't come out of the portal before the explosion, we all assumed the worst happened. "Close it." Cap said with sadness sounding in his voice. Natasha closed the portal. What we saw next shocked us all.

It was Tony! But something was wrong. He wasn't flying to stop from falling. "Son of a gun." Steve said. "He's not slowing down." Thor announced. One of the guys on the ground caught him, my guess is either Thor or the Hulk. I heard the Hulk roar. Then Stark's after. "What the hell? What happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me." Stark's reaction was kind of funny so I giggled  bit. "We won." Roger said relieved. "All right. Yay! Hurray. Good job guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is but I want to try it." Tony stated. "Sure, I'm down."I told him.

"We're not finished yet. " Thor said. "And shawarma after." I laughed. Tony was determined to try shawarma. Then we all went into the living room of the building on the floor I was kept on. Loki started to stir. He sat up and saw that we were all there just in case if he tried anything. "If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now." Loki said wearily. We apprehended Loki. We had completely and utterly won.
