Quidditch and Misunderstandings

Author's Note: Set in (y/n) and Draco's 3rd year even though this one shot doesn't follow cannon events. I hope you all like this imagine! It took a long time to write, but was so fun to come up with! If you could comment with what you thought worked well and what didn't or even a quick hello it would be appreciated! Thank you!


The Saturday morning air chilled my bones as I

walked through the corridor, heading towards the Great

Hall for breakfast. My stomach jumbled inside of me

tying itself in knots. My legs felt like gelatin, but I still

managed to skip down the hallways. Every once in a while

I stopped and shook with excitement. Today was the

big day! Today I would be playing my first Hogwarts

quidditch game! I was to be Gryffindor's seeker in the

match against Slytherin as Harry had nearly been

permanently maimed in Potions yesterday when his and

Seamus' caldron had exploded. He was still recovering in

the hospital wing from a horn-like growth and boils that

had yet to disappear from his head.


I was quite nervous, but also extremely excited to

finally play in a Hogwarts game; against Slytherin no less.

When Wood had informed me that Harry wouldn't be able

to play in the upcoming game (Madam Pomfrey insisted

he stay in bed) and I would be playing instead I had

hugged him so hard he could barely breathe. Yes, my

dream of playing quidditch for Gryffindor was finally

coming true!


I walked into the Great Hall and approached the bench

across from Ron and Hermione.


"Morning," I said sitting across from two of my best

friends.


Hermione looked up from the book she was reading,

"Good morning, (y/n). Did you sleep well last night?"


"As well as I could with all the nerves," I replied taking a

slice of toast and watching as Ron fit three links of

sausage into his mouth.


He chewed saying, "Don't worry, (y/n)! You're an amazing

seeker. Slytherin doesn't stand a chance!"


I wished you could believe him, but I wouldn't be

playing against just any seeker. I'd be playing against

Draco Malfoy. He had yet to beat Harry, but Harry was a

smidge better than me when it came to the seeker

position. That smidge might be all Malfoy needed.
