Seth's POV*
It wasn't that bad yesterday. The only thing that Shadow did was ask me a bunch of questions about my moving here and my new classes. It was funny how she gave out her opinion so freely in all my answers to her questions.
Flashback <<<<<<<<<
"So. You lived in Egypt, right? How's it there?" she asked. "Is it really hot and did you own a cat or beetle?"
"Well, I didn't exactly 'live' in Egypt. I just spent some time there. And yes it was hot, and no, I didn't own a cat or beetle." I said shoving my hands inside my pockets and looked up to the sky. Some birds passed by, flying high in the sky making a sideways V.
"Really? Aww. That sucks. I wish I had a cat, but then my dog would have it for dinner. So yea. Heh heh. Hey! How come you didn't live there?" she glanced up at me.
"Since my father is a traveler, I only spend some time in certain places. I never stay for more than a month. But once I stayed for two months in Alaska because the all flights were cancelled." I said, looking back down at her.
"What about school? And friends? Wouldn't you get all sad and miss them? Aahhh, I would be crying my eyes out if I didn't get to see a friend." I chuckled which made her shoot a glare at me.
"Yea, well, nobody said that being a traveler's son would be easy, right? Specially a traveler who's single."
"Your dad's single?!" she exclaimed in astonishment at my reply.
"Yea.........." I said slowly, stretching out the word, and frowning.
"What 'bout your mamma?" she asked worriedly. I stopped dead in my tracks at the mention of that word. 'Mamma'. It felt so foreign. Looking at the far distance, avoiding her stare, I answered in a whisper.
"Dead."
"Oh. Sorry. Feck, I'm so sorry."
I shook my head at her. "Don't be. It's best for her being dead asleep than suffering in life." She just nodded her head. "Also.......... Don't cuss. It's not very lady like."
"Does this face looks as if it cares? No it doesn't. And I said 'feck' not 'fuck'. Ok? Big difference."
"Whatever."
"Anyways.......... What's your schedule?" she changed the subject.
"Umm.......... To tell you the truth, I really don't understand it. A day? B day? What is that supposed to mean?" I said taking out the paper the elder lady at the front office gave to me. I showed Shadow my schedule and she nodded.
"Oh! It means you have a robot schedule."
I gave her a weird look.
"Just kid, just kid. Here. Lemme help you." She took the paper from my hands and skimmed through it.
"Well the days are marked as A or B. Meaning that the classes in A day will come first before B day. Then again is A day then B and so on."
"Does each week start with the same day?"
"No. It picks up were it was left off. For example, um, if the school week ended in A day then the following week would start in B day. Or backwards. End in B day, and start in A day."
