Chapter 4

The next couple of days was very frustrating. Apparently Alex and I had been seen kissing and it had got all around the pack. We kept getting smiles and congratulations everywhere we went. It didn't matter how many times we told others that we weren't a couple, we just got smirks and eyebrow raises, so we just gave tense nods and tried to ignore the attention.

Friday came around and I was beyond excited. After years of study and hours of training, I was finally graduating as a fully qualified nurse!

The ceremony was pretty standard at the university, being a human school and all, but I got lots of envious looks when Alex and a few pack warriors started hollering for me when my name was called. Wolves are built bigger than humans and pack warriors are built even bigger than that. I myself am 6 foot tall. Taller than most women because of my bloodline. I saw that Alex had Tyler on his shoulders and Kevin had Ryder on his. They were hollering along with the men. I laughed loudly at their antics. I saw my mum and sisters here too. Even the Alpha and my father were here, but they were keeping to the fringes of the crowd, cautious of any danger. I smiled hugely at them all and waved to my boys and family.

It was a bittersweet moment for me. I felt all the love from my family and my pack mates, but I knew I'd be leaving them all very soon. The Blue Moon Pack is my family. I have my lifetime of amazing memories. But it's the place that I had expected to live my life with Devin. The moment I had decided to leave, I stopped having nightmares of Devin dying.
I was able to remember the good things without the bad overshadowing them. We all went out for a celebratory lunch and I just enjoyed my time with all these kind and caring people.

Later that night, as I dressed to go clubbing, I had thoughts of what I would do next. For the first time in forever, I was able to look forward. Not to forget Devin, but to shelf him until we meet again.

When I was done I went out to the lounge where Alex was already waiting for me, playing UNO with the boys. When they heard me come in they all looked at me and all three dropped their jaws. I had gone all out tonight. I was happy to see I was successful.

"No! Nope! Go change!" Says Tyler standing up and shaking his head. I stepped back in surprise. Did it look that bad? Ryder picked up on my thoughts like always.

"You look too good mum! We want you to find a guy that'll love you, not just want to fu..." Alex placed his hand tightly over Ryders mouth to stop him from finishing that sentence.

"They're right though! You look hot!" Alex says. He gets an elbow to the gut from Ryder and a jab in the ribs by Tyler.

"Oww! Relax you two. Geez. I'm probably going to get mobbed out tonight as it is, I don't need you two pounding on me as well!" Alex says laughing. I roll my eyes at him and my boys but internally I'm relieved. I know I'm pretty, but after so many years in mum wear and scrubs, it feels good to feel sexy and for others to think so too.

"Night boys. Don't wait up tonight! I'll see you both in the morning." I tell them seriously. They nod. They know not to mess with the mum tone. I send a quick text to my sister reminding her to keep an eye on the boys. Our cabin is across from each other and she can watch them while having them still feel like they're independent.

"Hey, try and stay close tonight. Don't drink anything you've placed down and taken your eyes off. Ok?" Alex reminds me. I nod.

"All good, also don't let me being there cock block you. You find someone to hook up with, you go right ahead!" He laughs and gives me a side hug.

"You are the ultimate best friend!" I laugh with him.

The club is already packed when we get there. It is full of humans and supes alike. I scent mostly shifters but also a couple vamps and I'm pretty sure a Fae couple. Alex puts a hand around my waist and ushers us in. Supes never wait in line at this club. I hear some grumbling from the people outside waiting in line but I can't bring myself to care. I grin at Alex and drag him straight to the dance floor.
