Locked Hearts - Complete

Chapter 17

Daly almost misses the chair as he sits down heavily.

"Quads!? As in four? Four pups? In you? Right at this moment? At the same time? Are you sure?" Daly asks breathlessly. Bea is covering her mouth trying to hide her laughter. Max rolls his eyes at Daly

"They wouldn't be quads if they were in there at different times now would they!? Here, I'll print you a few pictures but look at the screen. You see those four flickers? That's your pups heart beats!" He explains. I watch Daly anxiously as he watches our pups on the screen. His eyes soften and the tense set of his shoulders relax.

Now that I'm sure Daly isn't going to freak out, I'm freaking out.

"How!?" I moan. Even Daly laughs this time.

"Sugar, you know how! I can remind you as soon as the good doc leaves!" Daly says with a hot look in his eyes. I roll my eyes at him. But Max understands what I'm asking.

"Two sets of identical twins. So you'll either have 4 girls, 4 boys or 2 of each!" He finishes off explaining to Daly. I shake my head in shock. Daly seems to be over his shock now and has moved on to full blown happiness.

"We're having 4 babies! 4! Holy shit Tess, we're going to have 6 kids! Hey, maybe we can beat my parents record! Just 3 more to go!" He says with a huge grin.

"How about we work on the record when it's you who has to give birth to them!" I say with a eye roll. He just laughs and starts kissing me. I moan in pleasure as soon as I feel his lips on mine but snap right out of it when Max clears his throat. Daly growls at the interruption but moves back.

"I'm not going to give you the normal spiel as you know what you need to do. Call me if anything worries you, otherwise I'll see you in a few weeks for the next scan. We can find out the gender of the quads then!" Max says. After lots of excited squeals and congratulations from Bea they left. 

"Wow! 4 babies! Thank you sugar! Thank you for being mine and for giving me the family me and my wolf have been craving!" Daly says with emotion. I sit in his lap and hug him tight.

"Thank you for loving me and the twins! Let's go share this news with everyone!" I say with a laugh.

The news was celebrated throughout the pack. There has never been quads born here before and everyone was very excited.

The next few months flew by. Our scan showed that we were having 4 healthy boys. I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't having any girls but was very happy that they were all healthy. Daly just laughs and says the next ones will be girls. Yeah, not happening!

I'm due any day now and am huge!
Luckily I'm fit and healthy and my alpha blood keeps me strong otherwise I'd never be able to move around! As it is I have an unfortunate habit of knocking over things as well as the odd person with my stomach.

Daly and the twins think it's hilarious, as do most of the pack. I find it mortifying. Today we are having a ladies only picnic up on a hill overlooking the pack lands. This spot will be my front yard by the weekend as the house behind me is finally completed. Daly and most of the pack have worked non-stop getting the massive house built before the babies are born. We're just waiting on furniture to be delivered and assembled and we can move in, the only thing left to do after that is the landscaping.

I had no idea but this impromptu picnic was actually a surprise baby shower! To say I cried will come as no surprise I'm sure. But happy tears are good. The quads are going to be so spoilt! We were having a great time, eating, laughing and just enjoying each others company when I started to notice more and more she-wolves going quiet.
