It was late in the fall of her 16th year, as the crisp autumn leaves came in contact with her blindly bruised skin, while she walked to her local coffee shop around the corner as she did every weekend. With the crunch of the leaves beneath her boots and her cheeks flushed red due to the cold. She made it to work hours earlier because she would have to leave early to go grocery shopping since her mother had been bed written, ever since her accident 4 years ago. Which also resulted in the death of her father. Lindsey had to grow up fast. She had been taking care of herself since the age of 12, cooking and cleaning and taking care of her mother, after all, she was all Lindsey had.
Lindsey clocked in, put on her apron and tied her hair back, and immediately headed out to the foyer and began taking orders. The shop was always busy in the mornings, and even busier during fall and winter. A lady who looked like she was in her mid 30's, wearing a light gray long sleeved blouse and bright emerald eyes was up first. "Hi, welcome to the firehouse cafe, I'm Lindsey, may I take your order?"
"Hi Lindsey, um yes I would like three caramel macchiatos, light milk, extra cream please, and one vanilla bean frappe with 2 pumps of raspberry syrup."
"Alright your total is $15.96 and your order will be right up."
Lindsey posted the order note on the board, where the people working in the back would soon receive it. She worked for the rest of the day until it was 5 o'clock. She then checked out, recieved her pay of a mere $40 and was on her way, by foot, to the grocery store.
She got there hastily within 15 minutes, and was quickly met with the lovely blowing of the warm heating furnace in the store. She removed her list from her coat pocket and headed to the dairy aisle. She grabbed 2 jugs of 2% milk, which was what her mother's doctor suggested for her to drink, some cheese and some bread.

I then crossed the aisle, to go get my favorite snack and some fruit, where I immediately came into collision with a boy around my age with light brown her that was swept to the side in a ruff, yet attractive kind of way and soft sea green bluish eyes that almost looked pale blue from a distance. He was attractive, He was more than attractive actually. Breath taking is what I would call it; and here I am just blowing hot air into his face. Typical.
"I'm sorry I wasn't watching where I was going, my fault." I spoke shyly as my voice quietly cracked due to the pressure.
"No no no, no need to apologize love. It was obviously my fault. I'm sorry." I immediately identified his accent as a british one. It was distinctive, and luring. It made him even more attractive than he already was. If possible.
"I- I'm Lindsey, and you are?" I said as I looked up towards him. He wasn't very tall but he was taller than me. I was only 5'3.
"I'm Louis, Louis Tomlinson. It's been a pleasure meeting you in such a typically unpleasant way." He said as a small smile formed across his soft pink lips.
I lightly chuckled as we both stood there, taking in each other's presence. The radiating heat between us had increased lightly.
"May I take your number Lindsey? If you don't mind?" He said as he scratched the nape of his neck nervously."Of course," I said as he pulled out his space grey iPhone 6. I still had the 5.
He placed the phone in my hand after he had unlocked it, his wallpaper was the album cover of a band called "The Stone Roses" I had heard of them actually, they weren't very popular here in the U.S but my mom and dad had always spent some of their late evenings reliving their youths with the alternative music. I put my number in his phone and put my contact name as "Lindsey" and handed it back to him. He texted me and my phone vibrated in my back pocket. We smiled at each other for a little while longer, before I realized the time. It was nearly 7 and I had told my mom to expect me home around 6.
"Well I'm sorry to cut this pleasant encounter short, but I've got to get home. I don't like walking when it's dark out."
"I'll drive you home if you'd like? I have some free time and I'd be delighted to. I'd hate for a lady like you to have to walk home in weather like this." A large smile appeared across my face and my cheeks were brightly pink as I accepted his offer. As we walked out of the store I noticed that his arms were covered with tattoos of different kinds. I was always neutral about them but he made them work. I followed him to his Slick Black BMW. I wouldn't have expected a young guy like him to have such a nice and expensive car. I always walked, I had my license but we didn't have a car because it had been demolished in the crash.
During our ride, we exchanged questions and answers about our daily lives, I told him about my parents and he told me about his, and how they sent him to live with his aunt and uncle here 3 or 4 years ago. We learned the basics of eachother all while exchanging a few laughs here and there. He was a funny fellow, and I love anyone that can make me laugh. We pulled up at my small 2 story government payed house due to my mother's disability. I turned and thanked Louis for the ride.
"No problem Lindsey. I'll give you a ring later. Oh, and by the way, don't open the door for yourself anymore okay, always wait for me to get it for you."
"Is this your way of telling me that we'll be seeing eachother again?"
"Oh Lindsey, I know we'll be seeing eachother again, I feel it in my soul."
With that he drove off as the autumn leaves blew in the wind impacted by the speed as which he drove, and I walked into my house.
Today had been slightly interesting. More interesting than normal and that's a fact.
