Chapter 5

Ashton's POV

"D-Do you want to come sit with me at lunch? I mean, only if you want to. You've probably m-made a lot of friends already, but you can still sit with me and my friends", I rambled as me and Luke walked to his locker.

Luke let out a small laugh. "Thanks, I would like to meet your friends. And yeah, I've made a few friends and I've got lots of girls phone numbers and email addresses which I will throw out".

I nodded and smiled. Of course he's already gotten attention from girls and popular kids, he's awesome, it's understandable.

"I will warn you, Darcey and Calum are best friends, but they argue and fight a lot, it's totally normal to think they hate each other".

"Okay, I'll remember that", Luke replied before we started to walk to the cafeteria.

"Hey guys, this is Luke, Luke, this is Darcey and Calum", I introduced Luke to my friends.

Darcey smiled and scooted closer to Luke when he sat down next to her. "You're hot, aren't ya", She wiggled her eyebrows at him. Luke looked at me and I gave him a reassuring smile.

"Oh, umm...thanks".

"For fucks sake, Darcey! You're making him feel uncomfortable, shut up", Calum squinted his eyes at her.

"Oh, I'm not uncomfortable, I can see she's...outgoing, it's fine", Luke smiled.

I just realised that I haven't seen Michael today. Is he even at school? Is he sick or dead?

"Where's Michael? I haven't seen him today", I mumbled as I took a bite of my ham sandwich.

"He's got a cold. He needs to grow some balls and get his tiny arse at school! It's not fair how he doesn't have to come to school and we do", Darcey whined.

"But, if he's sick, wouldn't it be better if he rested at hom-"

"No one asked you, Lucas, shut up", Darcey interrupted Luke.

I feel like we are all gonna be best friends. Darcey's already starting to sass Luke, which means she must like him.

"Darcey's an...interesting person, isn't she", Luke smiled. Me and Luke were on our way home from school. We figured since, we live across the road from each other, why not walk home together.

"Yeah, she is. She's awesome".

As we walked past the park, Todd, the captain of the Football team, and most popular boy at school walked up to us with his girlfriend, Hilary, who is the captain of the cheerleading squad and of course, most popular girl in school.

"Hey, Luke", Todd greeted Luke by shaking his hand, while Hilary stood there twirling her hair with her thin finger.

"Hey, mate", Luke smiled.

Hilary looked at me. Well, more like glared at me.

"Why are you hanging out with...him? He's such a loser with only three friends, come hang with us", Hilary said to Luke.

Luke raised an eyebrow and looked at me. "What? Ash isn't a loser, he's awesome".

Todd scoffed and pulled Hilary closer. "For real? Ashton Irwin, awesome? Nah, I don't think so, have you seen those glasses? He's so nerdy".

"He's cute, and fuck up, he isn't nerdy, he's just smarter than you, dick!", Luke sneered.

Luke just came to our school today, and he's already talking back to Todd and Hilary.

"Cute? Are you gay or some shit?", Todd asked rudely.

"I prefer bisexual, and yes, he is cute".

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Luke is bisexual? Does that mean I might have a...chance with him?

"Ew, faggot! And I thought you were fucking cool, and then you basically just told us that you like dicks, freak".

Luke didn't let Todd say anything else. He threw a punch at Todd's cheekbone and didn't miss. Todd feel to the ground and Luke grabbed my arm and we started to walk again.

"Luke, don't mess with Todd, he will beat you up, I've seen it happen before", I said worriedly.

"It's okay, he can't do shit. He didn't even defend himself".

It was silent for a few minutes until Luke spoke up again "You don't mind that I'm bisexual, do you?".

I stopped in my tracks. "What. Of course not! It's none of my business whether you like boys or girls, even both or not", I replied. "And, I-I think I'm bisexual too", I looked down at the ground.

"What? What do you mean you think you're bisexual? Aren't you one hundred percent sure?".

I sighed. I wasn't gonna tell Luke that he's making me question my sexuality.

"It's a long story, don't worry", I smiled.

"Alright".

"YOU LIKE LUKE!", Darcey squealed through the phone.

"What! I do not, I'm straight, you know that!"

"I saw you blushing when you were next to him at lunch! Don't bullshit me, Irwin! You have a crush on him!".

"Darce, please don't hate me, but I think I'm bisexual. Yes, I might have a crush on Luke, but please don't hate me".

"Aww, Ash. I would never hate you on something as small as your sexuality. I think gay relationships are so cute!!!".

"Thanks, Darce"

"YYAASS! I finally have a gay best friend. And by the way, you and Luke are gonna end up together, my friend!".

"Well, today Luke told me he's bisexual too".

"ERMIGAWD! LUKE IS IN LOVE WITH YOU!".

"No, no, no, he doesn't even like me, Darcey, control yourself".

"Shut the fuck up, Ashton! I'm coming over see ya soon".

"Darcey, Darce, are you there?".

I rolled my eyes since she hung up and put my phone down. She is more excited than me. Wait, I shouldn't be excited, there's no way Luke likes me, he's just bisexual, nothing more.

I was put off my thoughts when the doorbell rang. I opened it and saw Darcey standing there, smiling widely.

"Hey, Darc-"

She pushed past me and ran upstairs to my bedroom. "Now, tell me everything".

I sighed and started to tell her things about Luke. I didn't bother trying to argue, because what I've learned over the years, is, the easiest thing to do is to just to listen to her.
