“What you doin’, huh?”

Jennie immediately placed a palm on her chest, glaring at Seokjin as she tried to stabilize her breathing. “You jerk.” she quickly hit him right on the arm, earning a grunt from him. “You almost got me into a heart attack.”

Omo, jinjja?” He cupped her cheeks and squeezed it a little, running her eyes all over her small face. “Should I take you to the hospital now?”

Jennie slapped his hands away, massaging her cheeks which she glared at him to. “That hurts you know.” She gave him one last glare before returning her attention back to what she was doing earlier.

As much as Seokjin wanted to stare at her side profile, he couldn’t help but notice what she was doing. Peeking over her shoulders, Seokjin’s eyebrows furrowed at the fancy pens and scented papers scattered on Jennie’s table.

“Was it your mother’s birthday? Wasn’t it just a few months ago?”

Ani.” Jennie smiled, eyes not leaving the card she was making.

“So, are you celebrating something which I’m not aware?" Seokjin tried to drop hints on how he was overthinking on things but looks like she didn’t caught on it, still smiling on the card she was writing. “Hm?”

The last words Jennie wrote was what Seokjin immediately saw, seeing the name of the man whom he clearly remembered she had been crushing for years.

“K-Kim Taehyung?”

“Sshhh.” Jennie placed a finger on her mouth, eyes checking every direction as she worried someone might have heard him. “Oppa!” she playfully hit him on his arm again. “Someone might hear you.”

But Seokjin’s face didn’t changed, eyes fixated on Jennie before it jumped back to the letter she was writing.

“You never seem to give up on him, huh?” His tone held disappointment and sadness in them, the lady oblivious to that fact. “Tell me, what’s in him for you to like him that much?”

Jennie suspiciously cocked an eyebrow at him. “Why are you asking that now?”

“Now’s the only time I have to ask that.” he said firmly.

Jennie didn’t bothered answering his question, cleaning up her table before standing up and had her bag slung on her back. “I need to go—” Seokjin was quick enough to stop her by holding her arm.

“Wait for me.” he ran to his bag and stood beside Jennie before they both exited the classroom to have their lunch break.

As they were eating silently across each other by the table, Seokjin couldn’t help but stare as Jennie had her eyes on the card she was making earlier.

Hadn’t she finished it earlier?

“You’re wasting time for a card?” he said nonchalantly, not knowing how offending it was to the girl across the table who just ignored him like nothing.

“You can go ahead for the afternoon class. I’ll catch up. Or maybe not.”

That literally stopped Seokjin from eating, dropping his spoon and fork on his plate as he looked at Jennie, trying to ask her to elaborate more on what she meant.
