potions

Severus's POV

Walking to class was fine, although Remus and lily had it with us....but that ended as soon as we found out what potion we were making. Horrid if messed up but if you get it right then congrats. Its a highly complex potion that can be dangerous to both the person drinking it and the person who gave it to them.

Love potion.....

Grimacing we got a cauldron and nearly drop it.
"Be more careful!" I scold James.

"5 points from Gryffindor for not paying attention." Said the professor Mr Leaf.

A/n....Ik Ik...his name is leaf... I couldn't think of anything!

Oh no...that's not what I wanted! I didn't even think he would hear us!
James glaring at me and the professor at the same time (a feat that I wouldn't have thought possible) whispers furiously.

"You were holding it too!"
He said. "Yeah, but you're the one who lost your grip."

"Whatever you just want Slytherins to win the house cup!" James said but this time it was rather loud.

"Mr potter! We will win if you can't keep your trap shut and follow directions! You should already have all materials but instead you have forgotten the most important ingredient. Can anyone here tell me what Mr Potter has forgotten?" Said Mr leaf talking to James and then the class.

No one raises their hand so he continues to speak,
"Moon root, people its moon root! Everyone knows this.
10 points from Gryffindor James for being a distraction in class. Do it again and it will be detention!"

James still glaring at me takes the knife and starts chopping ingredients while I add them to the cauldron on a low heat.

For once I crave the end of class, dreading the effect of the love potion.
Finally most of the classes potions are done.

"S-sir are we testing them?" A small girl from Gryffindor asks the professor.
"Yes you are testing them on your lab partner. This is a small dosage of your potion so that it will wear off within and hour or less. Go ahead and test them."

Me and James look at each other neither of us wanting to be the test subject. But i think he trust my potion skills. Though that might be the issue.

Finally he caves,
"Fine gimme the damn potion."

I hand him the potion and at first he doesn't react. I glance around the room to see some people being rushed to the hospital wing and others snogging their brains out.

Then in a sudden rush I'm pushed against the desk with lips against mine soft but demanding.

I pull back startled and see a few people glance at us and snicker. Including Remus and lily. But before I can see anyone else James smashes his lips against mine again pulling me closer. Against my better judgment I can't help but kiss back hooking my arms around him.

Since he's a bit taller them me and also stronger, he picks me up slightly and sits me on the desk still never loosing connection. The whole situation was only slightly uncomfortable due to the handcuffs but that was easily forgettable...

Lily's POV

"Why isn't the cuffs coming off?" Remus asks me.

"Because they haven't admitted their feelings to each other. Probably not even to themselves. And even now its only due to the potion."

He looks at me with a bored look and sighs,
"We both no Severus will admit it to himself maybe James will too but they are both way to prideful to tell each other... And speaking about the potion-"

I cut him off already knowing where this is going.
"I'll take it. I can tell you like Sirius and it would be awkward for you. You can't test it on me but use stupify after. No offence but I want my first kiss with someone else."

He looks at me dumbfounded. Apparently no one noticed his feelings for Sirius....honestly boys am I right?!

He's says nothing but before I know it stupify is shot at me and I don't bother blocking it. I trust him enough.

The bell rings signaling the end if class and Remus ran from lily while Severus had to drag James to the dorms to get him to stop. The potions should wear off in a few minutes.

Severus's POV

I plop down on the couch causing James to do the same...apparently the potion still had a minute or two left...

As he presses his lips to mine with his hand in my hair, I have to keep reminding myself that I don't want this that I don't like it....but every second makes it harder to do so....

All of a sudden he pulls away looking scandalized.
"Uh.........wha-"

"The potion. You uh got a bit out of hand..."  I say quickly.

He blushes a deep crimson red and looks away sheepish.
"W-what all did I do?"

Before I can stop myself I respond, "let's just stick with , you're a good kisser." Realizing what I said he turns even more red.

After classes, we skip lunch but at dinner everyone is staring at us.

"Soooo, you sure it was the potion?" Sirius says to James.

"Of course. I'm straight as a ruler." The comment makes me flinch and all of his friends notice but oddly  say nothing about it.

Later that night he falls asleep first not noticing when his arm wraps around me.
Smiling to myself I realize, I'm fighting a loosing battle. Not only am I crushing on some one who hates me and is usually a jerk to me....but he's also straight....as a ruler to be exact......I don't remember the moment I drift into unconsciousness.
