it was another thunderstorm.

another night where chenyi was wide awake. crying.

she fears thunderstorms, the heavy rain pounding against her window as her breath hitched.

tears stained her face as her breathing is set at a rapid pace.

"please. go away." she mumbled, her bottom lip quivering as another strike hit the earth.

she jumped up, sobs coming from her mouth as the tears began flowing down again.

flash after flash and the rumbles that followed, her tears fell as well.

soon enough she drifted off into a slumber as the night went calm, the rain leveled down, the thunder subsided, and the lightning moved on.
