"how was your sleep last night?" minju gave the younger a small smile, sympathizing with the other girl."could've been better." she sighed, resting her head in her left palm as she fumbled around with her chopsticks in her right.
"just give me a call and we can talk our way through the next one." minju requested.
"i won't take no as an answer." she joked, looking at chenyi who took her hand away from underneath her head.
"please." she spit out, so fast she could barely understand herself.
"i got a new phone so if you could tell me your number i'll put it back in my contacts." chenyi explained, glancing at the elder who looked back at her.
"you're not someone who changes without a reason. what happened to your other phone?" minju placed her chopsticks down and opened her carton of strawberry milk.
"well you see, i was walking bear, my dog, and it started raining, so we started walking back to my house. the problem with that was we were a good 15 minutes away from my house. the rain picked up and i could hear rumbles, just my luck, i know," she chuckled, grabbing her hair that fell before her shoulders and moved it back.
"i sprinted and my phone was in my pocket. i sort of ran too fast and when i heard the next strike of lightning and the thunder, i jumped and my phone fell hard. right into a puddle." a sigh escaped her cherry tinted lips as she stared down at her food. she couldn't eat. she just stared at her chopsticks while they played with the food, gently tossing it around.
"i stopped and turned back around to look for it. by the time i got there and pulled it out there wasn't much i could do besides pick it up and toss it into the bin. it was shattered, the screen wouldn't turn on, and it was soaked." she wrapped up her story as she finally placed her chopsticks down and stood up, taking her tray with her to throw her things away.
"i'll be back." she said, and she took off.
