Thunderstorm
•••
The magnified camera taking flash.
Capturing big wide eyes.
Look long enough and catch a glimpse of soul.
Revealing the rush of adrenaline following the crash in another camera flash.
But the release of epinephrine isn't taking place in the bloodstream.
It's something that makes me shake yet my body is perfectly still.
Unlike my thoughts that resemble the jolt of shock given to the ground by a single strike.
Never landing in the same spot twice.
The volts transfer to the ground but my new type of high is transferred from mind to hand to hand to fingertips.
Rain blurring the vision of those on the ground looking out the windows in awe.
That God could create such a thing.
A destructive.
A beautiful.
A rough winded.
A graceful.
A breathtaking thing.
But once the patter begins to fade.
The camera flashes dim.
The clash and crash are nothing more than slow minded thoughts.
You are left with the aftermath.
Of fallen branches.
Ripped shingles of rooftops.
Flowers that are no more.
but take a look up in the sky.
And be victim to an array of colours.
Away from the sun and reflecting upon the rush of thoughts that struck the mind.
Ending the rush of life and now leaving me hungover from the new type of high.
thunderstorm nevermore.
awaiting again for the day.
Of another magnified picture flash.
