There I stood with my gold medal of the 2029 Pyeongchangs. I've never been so happy in my life. The crowd cheered, I saw smiles and laughter and flying kisses. Japan has been nonstop at the top and that's my reward for bringing them there and I can't complain about it one bit.
For one last time, the announcer said -Hinata Junichirou, the man who brought Japan to it's top of the world! - louder and louder the crowd cheered. My medal was what I felt separated me from the rest. The one in the million. Breaking world records here and there and the first to land a quintuple twice. I am the next best thing; but right now? I am the best thing.
One last time, I heard the crowd cheer and soon, I was sent to my Personal Room. As always, another Japanese competitor of mine -Satou Reiji - was sitting on the small couch that was in the corner of the room. I smiled at him while he smiled back. 'Congrats, Hinata-sama. Again you've brought us to the top and I'm not surprised,' Satou stood up but what made him less intimidating when he sat down was of how short he was. 'Why aren't you surprised?' I asked with a raises eyebrow while he walked towards me with his hands behind his back.'Anyone would've predicted that you would've won, actually. I saw through it the moment you landed that quintuple of yours for the first time,' I laughed and Satou shook his head with a smile. Satou is so caring, it may not seem like it but he really is. 'Anyway, I've been meaning to ask you if you wanted to go out tomorrow. As like a guy's night, you know? I'm pretty sure your coach will let you have it after you won,' he stops in front of me and I have to look down because he's so damn short. 'I'll have to ask him first, where did you plan on us going to?' I asked and suddenly, I could see the soft red colour on Satou's cheeks as he quickly looked at his feet. 'I was planning on bringing you to the new restaurant that opened up somewhere in town, I-I heard its super n-nice so I thought of bringing you there as a friend to congratulate you on your win!' He nearly yelled the friend part but I found it adorable how he thought of all of this.
'Don't worry, Satou-san. I'll go either way with you even if my coach says no.''A-ah! Don't do that! You could get in trouble! I don't want that,' he tells me while still looking at his feet. 'You are really adorable, you know?' I casually say to fluster him and he quickly look up at me with his face being beet red. 'Really?' he softens his face but soon quickly became the Satou Reiji I knew -the ass butt dude- he stood up straight and put his hands on his hips with a lifted eyebrow;
'See you later, Hinata-sama and you better be there seven in the afternoon sharp, ' and with that, Satou walked towards the door and left my room. He bumped into a competitor from Korea and flipped him off telling him to watch where he's going. Satou-san really is a nut.
After he left, I took a breath. I took my white coat with words in bold JAPAN on the back from the coat hanger and wore it over my costume since all my other clothes were in the hotel. I still had my medal but hid it under the coat as I still wanted to wear it. I feel so happy, first I break a world record and create the quintuple to be done in ice skating history. Then I get asked out by an adorable short Satou Reiji but somehow -I still feel empty somewhere-.
Maybe I haven't been sleeping well, but that doesn't mean to make me feel like i have a hole in my chest. I've been so caught up with practising these few months that maybe I didn't have time for myself. Even if I really do love practising, maybe I need to be off the ice a bit more.
I walk out of the room and pass by a few couple of the other competitors. Earning a high five from them and a 'Congratulations, kid!' even though I was twenty-four which passes the word kid. I soon see my coach, Thomas Percy, in his usual pose with his face scrunched up. 'Um, Thomas Sir?' I called and he quickly whipped his head to my direction. 'What is it Hinata?' I was quite scared to ask him but I really needed to get out of here for a while. 'I wondering if I could, well, go walk around outside for a while? I know i should be celebrating but I really need to take a breath from all this commotion,' I told him while rubbing my hands together. He would usually scold me and tell me "yOu cAnt gO ouTside HinAta, yOu nEEd tO pRactiSe fuR neXt yEar" but instead, he nodded and said, 'sure why not, everyone needs a break and you can have yours. But make sure to wear a health mask,' I nodded, a bit surprised at his understanding but soon quickly went to get one of my health masks from my Personal Room. I wore it and stepped outside of the gigantic stadium and like I wanted to do: took a huge breath and let it all out.
Though the air was fresh and the sky was clear, I still felt that empty void in my body so I decided -without Sir Thomas's permission- to take a small stroll around the place. The first few steps felt nice but soon I felt like booking it all the way to nowhere, and so I did. The streets weren'tas crowded as I'd thought it be and I still had space to run. A few people looked at me strangely then soon smiled knowing who I was. I was a carefree Hinata Junichirou, who ran away from the stadium because I felt empty. After running maybe for a good forty minutes, I stopped. I looked behind me and the stadium was nowhere to be seen. I realised I also wasn't at the city center anymore but more of the softer side of the town. With parks and trees and small zoos. My type of place. I looked up and the sky was much more clearer than before, but again. The void in my body was still there. There was a sign nearby that read out Gateway Park and I laughed to myself at how convenient it sounded and was.
I walked towards the sign and soon met with a pretty small metal gate with a flower pattern on it. How cute. I opened it and I soon met with a warm breeze. The park was so lovely, with sakura trees here and there and small little ponds with bridges over them, tiny hills and benches. There were a few families there and they didn't look at all like city people.
One of the families I saw were two men and a young boy that looked at the age of three. There was a short man and a tall one. The short one had green hair that looked floofy and had freckles on his face while the taller man had to have heterochromia since one of his eyes was brown while the other was turquoise and he also had cream coloured hair. Their child was adorable, he had heterochromia as well and his hair was pitch black, there was also a small little mountain of hair on his head. Clearly this world is just giving me heaven for leaving the stadium. They were near one of the ponds with a small bridge and all I could think was how that would be my future self with maybe a husband or wife. I smiled and walked past the married couple. I needed to sit down after all the running I did but most of the benches were taken with families, friends or love birds.
Except one.
There was a bench under a Sakura tree with a boy sitting at the left side. Welp, sit or stand with throbbing legs, I'll take option one. I walked towards the Boy and sat on the right side of the bench. Breathing in the soft scent of what the sakura tree had to offer. Though, even the scent had made me think of the black hole in my body which I still found very frustrating to deal with. I soon found myself looking at the Boy next to me. He had pale skin, brown hair which reached his neck and had bandages wrapped around his arms. Strange. He looked to be only sixteen or fifteen but it was hard to tell as his looks were making me think he was twenty. The Sakura tree blew a few flowers down and the wind passed us by-

Short Story*** 'Does it hurt when you fall off the ice?' he asked me in a tone which I didn't think I could read through. I smiled and of course, answered; 'Of course, but soon I got used to the pain of falling. Why'd you ask?' He turned away and looked at th...
